This '93 Appaloosa/Ichiban CD put Curry in blues territory, and it wasn't a memorable trip. Curry isn't a convincing blues vocalist; it doesn't help that several numbers aren't that great anyway, but he doesn't cut it singing straight blues. When he does get interesting lyrics, as on "Tall Oak Tree," his renditions lack impact and depth. As much as you want to root for Clifford Curry, he's simply not a blues artist.
