Canadian Blues guitarist Steve Rowe’s approach to Blues comes from 50’s Chicago urban sound and 60’s British Blues. Although largely self-taught, he was influenced by Michael Bloomfield, all of the Kings (Freddie, Albert, & B.B.), Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton. Distinctions include 15 nominations from the Quebec Lys Blues Awards for “Best CD" and "Best Guitarist”, and all of his recordings have made it into the Top 20 CDs in the US Living Blues Charts, as well as Toronto’s Maple Blues Mag. Steve’s first album was filmed and broadcast by Bravo Television, and this third album, “Front Rowe Center”, was presented in a nationwide broadcast by Rogers TV, Live from the Ottawa Bluesfest! Master blues guitarist Steve Rowe has earned his solid reputation and is acknowledged by the press and fans as a Guitar Hero. With a career now stretching over 25 years, his latest release, FIVE, delivers the blues with rare intensity, buckets full of emotion, and a six-string style that draws flattering comparisons with the British guitar gods of the '60s. From early Blue Note jazz, FIVE detours to New Orleans' Mardi-Gras, back in time for some 30s jump blues, ending with a side trip to Memphis for a mid-60s Stax groove. Steve and the band remain true to the powerful sound of the blues that leaves plenty of room to let loose.
