Stringbean & The Stalkers, New Jersey's "long strange blues band," presents an eclectic album/
Stringbean is the pre-eminent Bluesman of the Jersey Shore. He is one who has always stayed true to his roots. A veteran performer and recording artist/ The band features Sim Cain on drums, Dan Mulvey on stand-up bass and Joe Murphy on guitar. They have been joined by legendary guitarist Hubert Sumlin recently for some memorable shows. Stringbean is a true Bluesman. He does what comes naturally and he does it very well. Playing guitar and harp simutaneously is no easy task, but after a lifetime of devotion to his craft, he does it effortlessly. Stringbean is also a gifted songwriter. When Hubert Sumlin said, "You've got some outfit there." he didn't mean his clothes. He was talking about Stringbean's band. Drummer Sim Cain is a star in his own right, his unique, powerful style never waivers from the groove. Dan Mulvey on the "dog house" bass locks down the rhythm section and Joe "Mood Swing" Murphy handles the second guitar chords with aplomb. They respect the blues tradition but are not bound by it. Labels and categories fall away as they freely play what they feel. If you get a chance to see them play, GO, and be prepared to be transported and mesmerized.
