Oddly enough, for fans of electric blues rock and Southern music, the Pete Scheips Band, which comes from New England in the northeastern United States, is a blessing. It remains faithful to its roots while offering good quality music to all fans of modern blues rock. It has often opened for blues and rock greats such as B.B. King, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Dickey Betts & Great Southern, Johnny Winter, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Ted Nugent, Buddy Guy and Bo Diddley. In short, it knows music. We can easily see the band making a killing at Francis Géron's Spirit of 66; it's exactly the style of this legendary place. Among the members of the band, in addition to Pete Scheips, there is Jaimoe, a former member of the Allman Brothers Band on drums and Matt Zeiner, a former collaborator of Dickie Betts, on organ. And that is the combo's strong point: its musicians. The album's producers are Pete Scheips, Matt Zeiner and Chris D'Amato. The music, however, does not stray from the rules of the genre. If you like blues rock and southern rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers Band, this CD is for you.
