Guitar driven gospel blues with plenty of vintage and modern overtones to sooth your soul.
J.C.and the Revival create a style of bluesy gospel that they have coined "Red Hot Gospel" which is also the name of the first album. It is full of heartfelt singing, warm tube amps, Fenderlicious Guitar tones, swinging back-beats, and big walking bass lines. This group creates a nostalgic atmosphere by bringing the blistering sound of yesterday’s bluesmen to you once again with the Gospel.
Red Hot Gospel came about as a mixture of Southern Gospel roots with the discovery of the vintage blues guitar driven sounds of guys like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, T-Bone Walker, Blind Willie Johnson, to Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray. This is a very vintage inspired music with modern tones.
"It seemed like Blues and Gospel goes hand in hand. Everyone can identify with blues and the Gospel is the answer to the blues. It's a natural combination.", states Aaron Mills the singer/guitarist.
The good thing about JC and the Revival's music is that there's something for everyone loving American music and you don't have to be religious to enjoy it. JC and The Revival are all about giving it up for their audience and having enough hot licks on the upbeats to give the Good News at with just the right timing
