The band KRZAK was first formed in 1973 by Jan Bledowski, but in the first configuration the band didn't last very long and din't have much of a success. In 1975 Jan Bledowski re-formed the band and in the new configuration the band started gaining some momentum. However it took five years for them to see their first album published. But what an album it was. Recorded live in September of 1979, then re-processed in a studio, finally came out in 1980 and by 1981 it had a status of "Gold Record". The first 10 tracks on this CD re-edition are those included on the original vinyl version. The additional 6 bonus tracks are from two different studio sessions for Polish Radio in Katowice.
In 2005 a CD with the same live recordings from 1979, but in their original, un-processed versions (and with a few more tracks which were not included on the 1980 album) was published under very similar name, "Krzak - Blues Rock Band Live". If you are interested, that may be coming soon...
Now a quote with some additional information I found on some website called www.myspace.com
KRZAK is a phenomenon on a global scale – as a band playing instrumental music, it was one of the most popular rock groups in Poland of the early 80s. Their recordings have resisted the passage of time and their concerts still win acclaim both with audiences and critics. A triumphant comeback after 20 years of quiet was broken by the death of a co-founder and bass player, Jerzy Kawalec in 2003. KRZAK has had several records with the gold album status. Another achievement has been the reissue of eight of their albums, which were released by Metal Mind in 2005-2006. In 2006 Krzak successfully started giving concerts again, with Krzysztof Scieranski - a bass soloist well-known in the whole of Europe/
