Hard Luck Blues Band is a blues band from Stavanger. It arose in the spring of 1991 in connection with a CD project. The band has played at several major festivals. Friday 22 July 2016 and Saturday 22 July 2017 they played at Bjoren Brygge in Bygland
The band's leader is Oddvar Solheim from Evje, he has been with them for all 25 years. The band has toured extensively in Norway, they have participated in Åmål blues festival, Dundee blues Bonanza, toured in Denmark and elsewhere in Europe and the USA. The band was the first Norwegian blues band to be chosen as band of the month (August 2008) in Scandinavia's largest blues magazine Jefferson.
Over the years, the crew has changed quite a bit. On the first record, Totto Nilsen participated on harmonica, Thomas Ognedal Matre on bass, Arne Rostad on vocals, Per Riis jr. guitar, Jarle Børresen keyboards, Knut Helge Køningsberg drums and Blåserrekke led by Vidar Kenneth Johannsen, w/more
The band then continued to play with the crew Oddvar Solheim, Thomas Ognedal Matre, Knut Helge Køningsberg, Totto Nilsen and new vocalist Svein Ole Fjelde.
In 2003, Totto Nilsen quit and Arnt Ove Kvernenes came in on harmonica. Atle Strøm substituted on drums in the period 2002-2006, in the summer of 2006 Vidar Støyva came in on drums.
