"The veteran guitarist’s new album, In a Dream, features US guitar great David Grissom, plus covers of Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Albert King.
Excellent record, unpredictable and passionate–highlights the wide spectrum of Aledort’s musical vision of volcanic guitar creativity and inventiveness.”

Warren Haynes on IN A DREAM: “In Munich with a night off and listening to ‘In A Dream'. Andy’s playing his ass off as always and the guitar sounds are great. I love the harmonized slide guitars on ‘Hymn', and I’m digging the jazzier tunes too. And on ‘Moonwaves' he’s mixing Hendrix and Zappa vibes. I dig it!”

Steve Vai: “‘IN A DREAM’ reveals Andy’s authentic love of blues and it shines through in the atmosphere he created. He is burning an old torch in a new way and it works, and it’s great to have a record like this that captures that authenticity"
Joe Satriani: “Nice playing all over IN A DREAM! The sax solos are great and are a cool surprise. ‘Pali Gap’ sounds killer and ‘Moonwaves’ is awesome!”

"Andy Aledort has been at the pinnacle of American guitardom for decades. He has toured the world with Dickey Betts, played with Double Trouble and the Band of Gypsys, jammed with a who’s who of six string greats, from Joe Satriani to Warren Haynes, and taught half the world to play guitar as an instructor and journalist. Now he is coming into his as a solo artist, an exciting development evidenced on IN A DREAM.

Andy’s new album includes traces of all the people he’s played with and written about, from Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles and Frank Zappa to John Scofield, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. These and other influences are integrated into a personal style that reflects both his deep immersion into the history of the electric guitar and his own fierce originality. It’s fitting that three of the songs included on the album came to Andy in dreams, as they represent a seamless merger of so many musical ideas and traditions, which came together in his unconscious mind, emerging fully hatched. There’s something beautiful in how Andy worked with a squad of Italian musicians and two fellow Americans to track the tunes live in the studio as they got to know one another. This type of spontaneity and instantaneous creativity is the tie that binds together the disparate artists he loves"
