Comprising Taylor’s bandmates at the time of his passing in 2009, A Band Called Sam includes Sam’s daughter , an accomplished singer in her own right. Sandra sings with, ’60s recording Sandra Taylor group The Toys, and ’50s group The Cookies. Sam’s grandson , singer and Lawrence “LAW” Worrell guitarist, has traveled the world with his father (with Parliament Funkadelic), and Amy Winehouse. Worrell’s own ensemble is Planet12. , drummer, plays on the Long Island scene and across Mario Staino the globe with Savoy Brown and Kerry Kearney. , bassist, played and traveled the world with Gary Grob Sam. , Sam’s protégé, plays guitar and sings with his own band across Long Island and New Gary Sellars York City. , keyboardist and vocalist, has played with Stevie Cochran and other great Danny Kean performers.
Sam “Bluzman” Taylor was an American Blues singer, songwriter, producer, and actor. His accomplishments span from performing with Joey Dee and the Starlighters to songwriting for Maxine Brown and B.T. Express to being musical director for performers like Otis Redding, The Isley Brothers, and The Drifters.
