If you need a prescription for some new Blues music, then Groove Doctor Bob can provide the medicine. During the week he is a successful Ophthalmologist: on the weekend, a Blues musician. Hailing from the Gold Coast Australia, Groove Doctor Bob achieves a sound between that of Memphis Soul and Blues, Southern US Boogie and Aussie Garage Band rock n roll. Having played in many in places such as San Diego, Barcelona and Mississippi. Groove Doctor Bob is now showing the scene what he can do as a solo artist. The road beginning to becoming Groove Dr Bob began at the age of ten in Dalby Western Queensland where he heard his auntie’s guitar. When he got back home to Redcliffe he pestered his mother for a guitar, and it was in this childhood house (and backyard garage) that he was surrounded by music that inspired a lifelong love affair with blues music. Being influenced by the music of the 70's era such as aussie pop ( countdown), memphis soul, the british blues Invasion, aussie garage and pub rock was where the roots would grow for his distinctive sound. Bob’s first guitar was a nylon string acoustic guitar and he then quickly moved to an electric Les Paul Gibson copy. He then used his music as a release while he then became a successful Ophthalmologist. Groove Doctor Bob's first solo incision was with his debut album “Groovesville 4221” in 2019; a swirling gumbo of soul, blues, garage rock n roll with a trickling of love, pain and a lust of life. It was recorded and released through Bignote Productions. “Groovesville 4221” blends many sounds such as masculine but sensitive male vocals with soothing female gospel backings, smooth yet dirty blues/rock influenced guitars with the occasional swirling Hammond or electric piano and the old classic engine room of great bass and drums. After recording and releasing his first album Groovesville 4221, Groove Doctor Bob returned to Bignote Productions write, record and release his second album Ride With Me Thru Bluesville 4221. Produced by Jennifer Matthews and engineered by Paul Harris of Bignote Productions, they managed to find the model balance between Blues, Rock & Roll and Gospel. With infectious guitar licks, emotive chord progressions and catchy vocal lines, Groove Doctor Bob has made a statement to where he is at and where he is going. Currently working on his 3rd and 4th albums, Bob is excited to continue writing more material. Having the opportunity to express his distinctive sound in the studio and on stage allows the listeners to walk away with tangible evidence of his ability and musical gravitas.
