Boyd Small has been playing drums and singing for many years. In his long biography he is presented as a true point of reference for the blues scene in Portland, his hometown. Many are the musicians who have played with him as well as the bands who have seen him sing behind the drum skins. Boyd has lived in Amsterdam for 10 years where he founded 'Cool Buzz', an independent label dedicated to blues and alternative roots music. 'Diamond Boy' is his fourth album and is the result of a session recorded during his last stay in Portland, in a single day, surrounded by his musician friends, including faithful bassist Willy Barber.
