A true "musician's musician," Deacon has been mentored by the best: twenty years with the revered "King of the Boogie," JOHN LEE HOOKER, serving as his emcee, bandleader, merchandise executive, and of course, organ player.
Before working with "Hook," Deacon put in stints working with CURTIS MAYFIELD, FREDDIE KING, and seminal Chicago blues band, "BABY HUEY AND THE BABYSITTERS."
Having toured around the world for some forty odd (VERY ODD!) years, DEACON JONES has acquiered an enormous and loyal fan base around the globe. He has played in more than twenty countries, every continent of the world except Africa -- where he hopes to soon conquer also.
He has recieved numerous prestigious awards, as well.
A five time winner of "Keyboard Player of the Year" from various blues organizations, he has also recieved a prestigious cultural contributor award of excellence in Brazil, and had an official "DEACON JONES Day" proclaimed by the Argentine congress in 2002.
DEACON JONES has been called "the AMBASSADOR of the BLUES" for his good works spreading love of blues music abroad.
