This is a great CD by the under-recorded Texas guitarist Hash Brown. "T" Is For Texas involves fabulous jump blues that’s well recorded with a traditional Texas style guitar. Sounding for all the world like a stack of old Duke and Peacock singles, Texas guitarist Hash Brown puts together an album with the old R&B-blues revues of the 1950s in mind. The concept works just fine, showcasing a trio of vocalists in front of a large, horn-dominated band. Throughout, Brown's guitar work is tasty and heavy on the T-Bone Walker influences and Sam Myers blows his harp with authority! Album musicians: Hash Brown (guitar, vocal on 4), Zuzu Bollin (guitar on 8, vocal on 2, 7, 8, 11), Sam Myers (vocal, harmonica on 5, 6, 9, 10, 11), Darrell Nulisch (vocals on 3, 12), Rhandy Simmons (bass), Marc Wilson (drums), Matt McCabe (piano), Marchel Ivery (tenor sax), Big Al Dupree (alto sax), Pete Brewer (on 2, 6 , 7, 8, 11), Don Brozman (trombone on 11, 12), Keith Winking (trumpet on 1,3, 4.12, 13), Kaz Kazanoff (baritone sax on 1,3, 4.12, 13)
