Hash Brown (Brian Calway) started playing the blues in 1973. He was heavily influenced by Duke Robillard and Roomful of Blues, Ronnie Earl with Sugar Ray and the Bluetones. He played blues throughout the Northeast before moving to Dallas, TX in 1983. Since then, Hash Brown has been playing the blues in Dallas for over 23 years. After moving to Texas, he plunged into a vibrant music scene, becoming an integral part of the bands ZuZu Bollin, U. P. Wilson, Robert Ealey, Willie Willis, Big Al Dupree, Henry Qualls. Hash Brown has toured the US and Europe many times. He has appeared on no less than 30 different recordings.
