A New Release From 9 Below Productions With their debut release UNLEASHED, the Hound Kings are positioned to become a favorite among enthusiasts of acoustic blues music. Although reminiscent of classic country blues, this CD displays something new and fresh on the acoustic blues scene. Of the 10 tracks, 8 are original compositions penned by the Hound Kings. Alabama Mike has a knack for writing lyrics in a classic blues style with subject matter pertinent to today's world. The talents of guitarist Anthony Paule, and Scot Brenton on the harmonica, bring these lyrics to life. The results are the original tunes you hear on UNLEASHED. About the 2 cover tunes on this CD...Red Light is an obscure tune written by California blues man, Mercy Dee Walton. The humorous, suggestive lyrics are reminiscent of tunes like Chick Willis' Stoop Down Mama. The Hound Kings take this piano boogie and turn it into a rompin' stompin' guitar and harmonica driven groove. You Gotta Move is the Fred McDowell and Reverend Gary Davis classic. In this recording, the Hound Kings give the gospel tinged tune a new acoustic arrangement with an infectious shuffle groove. If the names Alabama Mike, Scot Brenton, and Anthony Paule sound familiar to you, perhaps it's because they worked together on previous releases Day To Day and Tailor Made. Both releases were favorites among fans and critics alike. UNLEASHED is receiving a major press, radio, and online publicity campaign, both in the U.S. and internationally.
