Larry Nath's debut CD, Live It! Is available now from Bonedog Records. Singer -songwriter Nath delivers a powerful collection of original music that digs deep into the American musical landscape. Containing songs of hope and redemption as well as heartache and escape, Live It! Is an album that delivers a unique, and yet in some ways comfortingly familiar, listening experience. The album is a collection of all original music with eight songs penned by Larry, and three new compositions by acclaimed songwriter Mike Sweeney (Billy Price, Bobby Wayne, Hoodoo Drugstore, etc). The songs here reflect a lifetime of influences including blues stalwarts such as Sonny Boy Williamson, Howlin' Wolf, and Albert Collins, as well as rock artists such as Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Tom Petty, exuding a lyrical and musical honesty rarely found in today's mass-market music. There is a "roots rock" feel to the album as the songs emote images of a time when blues, folk, soul, and rock all blended into a cohesive whole. The musicianship on the album has a cohesive feel as well (the album features studio veterans Jimmy Britton on keyboards, Mighty 'Lil Johnson on bass, Jim Relja on keyboards, and Brandon Barnes on drums - billed here as the Bonedog Allstars) - a band playing together for the sake of bringing these songs to life, and not just for the promotion of their own self-interests. The playing is tasteful and honest, and compliments Larry's down to earth songwriting and vocal stylings.
