Hometown: Baltimore
Current members: Rob Thorworth, guitar and vocals/Founded in: 1980/Style: roots rock/Influenced by: the Beatles, Bruce Hornsby, Ray LaMontagne/
Notable: Years back, Thorworth fronted a blues power trio until eventually deciding to perform solo. He released Dig it Up about a year and half ago, and recently decided to gather some musicians and return to playing with a band.
Quotable: “To be brutally honest with it, I’m bored with playing by myself,” Thorworth said. “It was fun at first, but I need that interaction with the other musicians. I’ve recently found some guys, and I’m very excited about playing with/
Rob Thorworth was signed to Kudzu Records and released "From the Hip" with the band Gravy in ‘94. "Life is Suffering" was released under his own name and label in ’98. Selling more than 15,000 copies of his first two records, Thorworth received attention from publications including Billboard and Guitar World. During the 90s, Thorworth toured and opened for blues greats Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, and Robert Cray. But his rootsy music crossed over enough for shows with The Allman Brothers, Carlos Santana, and Gov’t Mule among others. Thorworth won the ONTAP magazine (DC) sponsored singer-songwriter competition in 2004, and a slot at SXSW. His most recent record "Dig It Up,” offers a tight mix of blues-tinged ballads and powerful rock and roll.
