Resurrected and performing again at oldies shows and television telethons, Brand New Man is passionate singer Freddie Scott's -- who broke out in 1963 with "Hey Girl" -- first new recording in years. Showing zero rust, Scott gets it on like the new kid on the block on 15 jams accompanied by appearances by some of rock's best, including Felix Cavaliere (Young Rascals), Isaac Hayes, Peter Wolf (the J. Geils Band), Muzz Skillings (Living Colour), Graham Parker, John Tiven, John Waite, and guitarist Robert "Butch" Johnson. The concept is different from what Scott did in the past. He started off as a defanged soul singer trying to bust into the pop market before reclaiming his true identity as a gutsy wailer. Now he's venturing into Tina Turner territory -- a soul singer recording with rock influences in an effort to reach the most lucrative market in pop music/
