Alligator boss Bruce Iglauer describes his new field in the stable as follows: "Lindsay is like the child of Amy Winehouse and Little Richard." Lindsay Beaver is Canadian and in her mid thirties. However, she has long lived in Austin, Texas. Lindsay embodies blues, rock and soul like no other of her generation. She is a classically trained singer and jazz trained drummer. Jo Jones or Elvin Jones come to mind when you can see them live. You can also talk to her about jazz, as she has great admiration for jazz. Your appearances are like a natural wonder. She embodies her songs with great passion and intensity. Some critics describe their music as an amalgam between blues, R&B, rock'n'roll with a pinch of punk energy. But a Billie Holiday also comes to mind. Perhaps this perception has to do with their striking appearance. In any case, Lindsay is without a doubt one of the most exciting young musicians that the blues and Roots scene has produced in a long time. Her songs are exciting, catchy and have the depth it takes to be relevant. Her musical and private partner Brad Stivers is very important for Lindsay's music. Brad is arguably one of the most promising young guitarists in the blues and roots world. Lindsay is friends with Jimmie Vaughan, who immediately recognized her talent and also encouraged her and invited her to Austin. In 2018 she then moved to the blues metropolis of Texas. She forms her own band with Brad and bassist Josh Williams. Lindsay and Brad write great songs. Their music is very varied. Besides singing and drums, she is also a very good guitarist. With her partner, Brad Stivers, who has also lived in Austin since 2015, she has a congenial partner. Brad is without a doubt one of the most promising young guitarists on the international scene today. Brad is a great singer too. He embodies blues, soul and rock'n'roll in his game. Brad (born 1991) grew up in a military family. His parents are big music fans. His great inspirations were Stevie Ray Vaughan and B.B. King. But Jonny Lang also made a big impression on Brad. In 2010 he formed his own band - Bad Brad & The Fat Cats. At the International Blues Challenge in 2014, the band made it to the finals. In 2017 Brad released his first CD "Took you long enough", which is one of the best releases by a newcomer. Shortly afterwards he becomes a member of Lindsay's band. He plays on all songs of Lindsay's debut on the well-known label Alligator Records “Tough as Love” in 2018. At the beginning of 2019, the two decided to perform under the name Lindsay Beaver - Brad Stivers in the future. The band evolves from a trio to a quartet, in which Lindsay will increasingly also play guitar. The first album is to be released under the new name in 2021.
