Dutch singer and songwriter Phil Bee couldn't sit still during the Corona time. He used the 'lockdown' to lock himself up in the 'Castle Studios' in Mheer for 4 weeks to record this CD. This time no own work, due to the Corona situation and therefore the impossibility to rehearse, arrange and physically meet.
A repertoire was put together in collaboration with musician friends. Phil Bee had also asked his social media which songs were preferred. The result is this album with 10 songs that are on Phil's own bucket list and on those of his social media followers. His first solo album too, with a clear focus on the vocals. “I've never spent so much time on my own vocals for an album,” says Phil himself. The album was also recorded to fill the void of missing dozens of performances. Phil was in the middle of the theater tour with Johan Derksen when all events were canceled and the summer festivals with Phil Bee's Freedom and Erwin Java had yet to start. “Don't whine and stay positive” is his motto. The result: 'Against the Wind'. Songs with a zeitgeist from the 60s-70s of the last century. Classics with their own twist from the acclaimed Dutch blue-eyed-soul singer.
