The Badweather Blues Band (BWB) is a hard working, electrifying, energetic quintet, who has had the honor of performing their brand of blues, classic R&B, and funk for the past decade. Their critically acclaimed self titled CD "Badweather Blues", released in October of 2007, was proof that the band could transfer their raw power and soulful energy from the stage to the recording studio. Calling the Southern Tier of New York their home, BWB has enjoyed an enthusiastic following that supports their busy schedule of club and concert appearances. Armed with the powerhouse vocals of Debbie "Hop" Hospie, plus the soulful rasp and melodic falsetto of Bob, "Sonny Boy" Jenson, vocal harmonies soar. The quintet is rounded out by the rhythm section of bassist Tom "The Ringer" Westcott and the funky drummer himself, Steve "The Hurricane" Simmons. Matched with the instrumental dominance of the Mike "The Reverend" Melynk's crafty keyboard prowess, listeners will be taken to another level of "holiness". As audience members can attest, BWB's love of music and enthusiasm for performing comes across at each and every live venue. In addition to gracing the main stage at the Chenango County Blues Festival in 2005 and at the New York State Rhythm and Blues Festival in 2007, the Badweather Blues Band has performed and shared the stage with some of the following national acts: Bernard Allison, Rod Piazza & the Mighty Flyers, Hubert Sumlin, Roosevelt Dean, Michael Hill’s Blues Mob, Big Al and the Heavyweights, Buddy Guy, Jerry Pornoy, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Oteil and the Peacemakers, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Duke Robillard, Renee Austin, Kenny Neal, Joe Bonamassa, Alexis Suter, Renee Austin, and Crosby Loggins.
