Craig Caffall, lead guitarist for Maria Muldaur, who just played at the Redwood Cafe on Dec. 8th to a sold out show, will be bringing his own band, CCB-Craig Caffall Band, to the venue for some for some fun and frivolity. Their infectious grooves will get and keep you dancing the night away. Although based in the blues this quartet brings it from many angles of music. Funk, old school R&B, Latin grooves, blues, and good ol' rock 'n' roll in a way the keeps you coming back for more.
Caffall has been the lead guitarist for Maria Muldaur for the past 13 years but has also worked with other local artists like Shana Morrison, Nancy Wright, Joe Tate just to name a few.
Caffall has also recorded and produced several album projects including three CD's of his own on the GRA label, and is currently putting the finishing touches on his new album "Turns To The Blues". One production paired him up with Buffy Ford Stewart (husband is John Stewart from Kingston Trio) and Rosanne Cash, Kris Kristoferson, Timothy B. Schmidt of the Eagles, and the late great Dan Hicks.
Caffall's penned some fine tunes ready to be classics. From personal experiences to family stories to fantasy situations all backed by music based in the blues that really highlights the songs.
