Not tied down to one genre. They are Rock. They are Roots. They are Blues. They have Soul.
There has definitely been ups and downs over the years with a few line-up changes along the way, but with new layers of keys and backing vocals has lifted the music to a new level. Greg Sover - His-Story

 3. Temptation - 3:55
 4. Manic Depression - 3:45

 7. Living On The Edge - 4:02
 8. Song 28 - 6:46
 9. Stuck In The Rain - 5:46
10. Remember - 3:17

Singer, Songwriter and guitar slinger, Greg Sover, is set to release his newest recording, HIS-STORY, on July 21st on Grounded Soul Records.  The ten-song LP features eight blues, roots, and rock-tinged originals and Sover is joined by iconic Band of Gypsies bassist, Billy Cox, on Jimi Hendrix’s seminal “Manic Depression” and rarity, “Remember.”  The album was recorded in Sover’s hometown of Philadelphia, co-produced by Sover and Jim Salamone, and includes bass player Kenny Aaronson (Bob Dylan, Rick Derringer, Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Hall & Oates) and drummer/podcast host David Uosikkinen (The Hooters). “It’s all about crossing these boundaries and bringing everyone together, whatever your race, religion or nationality,” Sover says of HIS-STORY.
HIS-STORY follows Sover’s acclaimed 2020 EP, The Parade, and takes its name from the album cover art which finds the songwriter with his red Stratocaster in front of a building on Jefferson Street in Nashville that prominently features the words, “Support HBCU” (Historically Black College or University) written on its side. Sover chose the spot as it was the site of a guitar battle Hendrix lost by default and it highlights his connection to both Billy Cox and the legendary musician.
“Jimi is a huge influence on me. The first song I learned on electric guitar was “Purple Haze,” he explains. “When Billy and I first discussed working together, he wanted to hear me playing the Hendrix songs, so he looked at my YouTube live videos before he agreed as he wanted to make sure that the songs were infused with Greg and not an imitation of Jimi. He was really impressed with our version of ‘Remember.”
“When I heard you play, I heard something very, very special,” Cox said to Sover. “I said, whoa, I had to sit and listen… [with ‘Remember’] You did a great job. You would make Jimi proud if he heard that solo.  You aced that song.”
The album kicks off the lap steel-drenched groove of, “Dark House,” and is followed by the Vernon Reid flavored, scorching, electric guitar riff of “Freedom Part 2,” which finds the songwriter posing the question: “is freedom mine? Is freedom free? Cause look at the pain freedom’s costing me.” It features the backing vocals of Charlene Holloway and continues Sover’s lyrical exploration of the Black experience in America.
Blues rocker, “Temptation” draws its inspiration from Stevie Ray Vaughn and segues into the immediately recognizable guitar riff of “Manic Depression” – it is the first of two songs in collaboration with Billy Cox. “One Way Train,” and “Tonight” are a roots-rockers buoyed by Sover’s expressive vocal delivery and songwriting prowess on display.  “Living on the Edge” brings the resonator back front and center with a frenetic declaration, “I want you to understand me baby, I want you to teach me things they don’t teach at school…”
“Song 28,” opens with a heavy, blistering, reverb-drenched guitar solo over a driving rhythm section and the album is rounded out with atmospheric and pleading, “Stuck In the Rain” and concludes with the Hendrix penned, R&B rarity, “Remember” – the second collaboration with Billy Cox.
During the completion of HIS-STORY, Sover became a father for the first time.  “My son’s birth made me look at life a little different and artistically it made me hungrier — that desire came back to motivate me,” says the guitarist. “It gave me an added sense of empathy and understanding to the people around me. Knowledge of watching my son grow. It was like having two babies in a way – my son and getting this album done. I attack the music differently, you watch the words you say, the chords you play, the strings you hit, it’s more polished… This album I wanted to sing stronger and throughout time, I grew as a singer. I feel more confident.”
“I wanted to relate to my listeners more than anything on this album,” he continues. “I felt like I kept trying to resolve something on the last three albums, this one I just wanted to connect and be heard.”
A first-generation American of Haitian descent, Greg Sover is an integral part of the local Philadelphia music scene. He has two previous full-length albums, 2016’s Songs of a Renegade (S.O.A.R.) and 2018’s Jubilee, and 2020’s Parade six-song EP. He has performed locally and at festivals with the likes of David Uosikkinen’s In The Pocket, Yardbirds, Jeffrey Gaines, Jimmy Vivino, Tommy Conwell & the Young Rumblers, Walter Trout, Sonny Landreth, Popa Chubby and the Marcus King Band. Sover and his band made the semifinals for two consecutive years at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and won the 2015 Hard Rock Rising competition at Philadelphia’s Hard Rock Cafe in 2015.  He has received support from WXPN (playing both the Xponential Fest and Free at Noon) and over 100 radio stations in the U.S. and overseas, he was awarded a Living Blues Top 20 album. He has made appearances at Philadelphia Folk Fest, and Lancaster Roots and Blues Fest, amongst others.

Ghost Hounds - First Last Time

 7. Love You Too Hard - 3:01
 8. Chasing You - 2:43
 9. Hot Dog - 3:15
10. Country Roads - 3:23

Blues Rock gone Hollywood? Now don’t be starting a social media thread! I just wanted to get your attention. The Ghost Hounds latest release, First Last Time is the real attention grabber here! The album is the second release from Gibson Records of guitar manufacturing fame. It follows the label’s first official release in 2022, Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators fourth album titled 4. Ghost Hounds is the vision of guitarist and songwriter Thomas Tull which initially formed over a decade ago in Los Angeles. He brought Ghost Hounds to life in 2009 with a self-titled album produced by Nile Rodgers.
Then Hollywood really did happen. Tull, it turns out, is also an entrepreneur. He was part of a little production company called Legendary Entertainment. You might have heard of them with The Hangover, The Dark Knight Rises, and Jurassic World to their credit. Despite striking gold in ‘Legendary’ fashion, Tull sold his interest in the production company and returned to music. However, time stands still for no one as original Ghost Hounds members, Ty Taylor and Nalle Colt had gone on to a band called Vintage Trouble. Tull needed new hounds.
Collaborating with David Grissom who has gigs with John Mellencamp and the Allman Brothers Band on his resume and Kevin Bowe, with Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Lynyrd Skynyrd on his, the material was created for Roses Are Black released in November 2019. To bring this content to life, he brought in Johnny Baab on guitars, Bennett Miller on bass, Joe Munroe on keys, Blaise Lanzetta on drums, and Tre’ Nation to front the band on vocals. A Little Calamity followed in 2021 and You Broke Me was their third release in 2022. Ghost Hounds maximized their time on the road touring with heavyweights The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Garth Brooks, and Bob Seger. You can hear their influences throughout First Last Time.
“Last Train to Nowhere” has a full country rock sound with a little extra guitar spice that would make Garth proud. Hollywood, not far in the review mirror, took notice as “Last Train to Nowhere” frames a pivotal moment in the premiere episode of “Special Ops: Lioness” featuring Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, and Zoe Saldana which aired July 23. “Dirty Angel” was the first single off the album and drew immediate attention and anticipation. The title track, “First Last Time” is a slower paced tune about coming to terms with a painful life lesson and our human tendency to repeat them. ‘A sin is a sin even if you confess. Make your peace or it will tear you apart.’ “Make it Shake” is an upbeat motivational rocker. “Let’s Sleep on It Together” could be a sister track to a similarly titled Stones song. A rockabilly influence can be heard on “Chasing You”. “Love You Too Hard” is reminiscent of 80’s rock radio. The album adds a little fun with a Zeppelin lovers’ guilty pleasure “Hot Dog” and John Denver’s classic “Country Roads”.
First Last Time is an album without flaws. You can literally set it on repeat and take joy in whatever activity you are doing at the time. I personally recommend an adult beverage and not much else. The tracks both flow together and stand on their own. It is an exceptionally good album that is going to set the bar high for these Ghost Hounds.

Eric Johanson - The Deep And The Dirty

Tracks Listing:
 1. Don't Hold Back - 4:06
 2. The Deep And The Dirty - 3:47
 3. Beyond The Sky - 3:45

 9. Gets Me High - 3:46
10. Stepping Stone - 3:41
11. Borrowed Time - 4:14
12. She Is The Song - 4:46

Eric Johanson is a Louisiana-born guitarist with a track record of four Top 10 hits on the Billboard blues chart. With his music blending his passion for blues legends like Freddie King and Robert Johnson with elements of hard rock, soul and country, Eric is currently a rising star in the world of blues rock. He is now back with The Deep And The Dirty, his latest studio album. Produced by Jesse Dayton, known for pushing the boundaries of roots rock, the album was recorded live in the studio during the pandemic and is a vehicle for Eric to showcase his eclectic yet ultimately cohesive array of influences. Backed by bassist Eric Vogel and Grammy-winning drummer Terence Higgins, the Louisiana native delivers a 12-song set packed with rawness and drive.
“Don’t Hold Back” kicks off the proceedings. A mid-speed beast whose riffs brim with fuzz, the song borders on stoner rock/metal and sets the tone for the remainder of the record. With a killer bass tone, the title track plays outs in a similar heavy rock, fuzzed-out fashion. From the start, it’s clear that the live recording approach adds to the overall organic, gritty appeal of the album. The instruments have room to breathe, and the resulting soundscape feels fresh and alive.“Just Like New”, “Elysian Fields” and “Familiar Sound”, contrastingly, are all Americana-infused and more laidback, complete with resonator guitars and a Deep South feel and mood. We are then treated to more of Eric’s bluesy heavy rockers with  “Galaxy Girl”, the funky “Get Me High” and “Stepping Stone”, which boasts a monstrous, swaggering chorus.
Serving as an emotional haven amid the whirlwind of high-octane tracks, “She Is The Song” finishes things off. Delicate and contemplative, the number features the best vocal performance on the album and some tasteful, emotion-filled string bending. While The Deep And The Dirty is undoubtedly song-focused, it is really Eric’s guitar that takes center stage. Whether it’s the colossal intensity of his hard rock riffage throughout the record or the soulful warmth of his tone on “She Is The Song”, his guitar work shines through and elevates the album to a whole new level.  Overall, The Deep And The Dirty is a remarkable blues rock album whose main strength lies in inspired six-string pyrotechnics, even within a mostly song-driven framework. Combining modern heavy blues rock with more roots-oriented moments, the record should appeal to blues rock fans and guitar enthusiasts of all backgrounds.

Creating a heady mix of New Orleans and North Mississippi rhythms, blended with their own Thames delta style, and some West African influences thrown in for good measure; the South London blues trio, Jimmy Regal and the Royals have delivered another fine example of blues fusion — this time with even more friends! Jimmy Regal and the Royals are without doubt a unique band. “No other band is a three-piece with harmonica, guitar and drums, for a start,” mentions Joff. As a trio they have discovered interesting ways in which to experiment within the line-up, bolstering their sound as well as maximising the use of their instruments. With the guitar and harmonica taking on multiple roles, using effects pedals and innovative techniques, means they come out with exciting and creative music — setting them apart from the more traditional guitar bands on the circuit.

John Oliver And The Incoming Groove Band - Buried My Blues In Chicago

Bitrate: 320K/s

Year: 2023
Time: 35:06
Size: 80,8 MB
Label: Self-Released
Styles: Blues
Art: Front

Tracks Listing:
 1. Going Home - 2:41
 2. Bluffing Man Blues - 5:20
 3. This Is My Neighborhood - 4:40
 4. Blindsided - 4:50
 5. Leave Me Alone - 6:37
 6. Betty Lou - 4:26
 7. No More Boxing Shadows - 3:25
 8. Way Down Low - 3:03

John Oliver was born in Chicago and grew up developing his musical roots in the electric blues and rock of that city. He moved from Chicago to Colorado but carried his blues sensibilities to his new home.  Per the album’s release notes, “The Incoming Blues Band blends influences of Chicago electric, blues, rock, funk & R&B into the album track. John says that the album is deeply personal to him as the songs “capture the journey from John’s Chicago roots to Colorado with the emotive blues style relatable to everyone – the good, the bad, the low and high feelings in life”. According to the credits, John Oliver does the lead vocals and plays guitar on all tracks. He also wrote all songs. However, the Incoming Groove Band is noted as two distinctly different groups. The first group plays on three songs and consists of Jim Dodgen on bass, Guy Wadas on keyboards, Steve Quinn on drums, and featuring Mike Conley on rhythm guitar and Jim “Griff” Griffin on harmonica. The remaining five songs are performed by Steve Miller on keyboards, and Rick Yale on bass. John Oliver also plays the drums with this second group. The album revs up immediately with John singing that he is “Going Home”. Wadas’ keys and Griff’s harmonica leads into John’s first guitar solo. “Bluffing Man’s Blues” follows with John’s guitar ringing out as he sings that “he was a big man, about 6’2″, but you better watch your back.” Don’t trust that man, he will steal your money.” Steve Miller’s organ is a highlight of this song and John’s guitar is certainly up to Chicago standards as he rips through another solo.
The mood slows down on the R&B styled “This Is My Neighborhood” as John sings about listening to Marvin Gaye on the radio and reminiscing about the things he grew up with in his neighborhood. John’s guitar provides a funky feel to the song with Miller’s soft piano underscoring his guitar. John immediately gets the joint jumping again as he declares that he was “Blindsided” and “he can’t breathe” because he “did not see what was coming at all” and “girl, you used me up”.
The music slows down again with “Leave Me Alone” as John’s guitar moans and Wadas’ organ blends in. John cries “You done me wrong. You told me lies.” Steve Miller’s piano leads the drive as John says “Betty Lou” sure has the blues. “She is a sweet tea, with lots of sass and spice” and “I love everything about you.” His notes states that the song is dedicated to his mother, Betty Lou Oliver.John brings the funk again with Steve Miller’s organ again driving the song with John saying that he will have “No More Boxing Shadows”, “my gloves are on the ground”. The album ends with a rocking “Way Down Low” as John growls that he ‘has no dime in my pocket, no cents at all.” “No place to call my own”.John’s vocals are constantly warm and comfortable. The band in both variations are certainly well accomplished musicians and meets John’s liner note declaration that they “infuse a unique scene mood into each song”. While I certainly enjoyed the album, if I have one criticism it is that the lyrics are somewhat repetitive through every song.

If you are wondering what has happened to Michael Finnigan, well this is his latest band and release of songs. Michael has teamed up with a smokin' hot blues band from Texas, and they really kick it up on this CD. Michael carries many of the songs with his smooth, bluesy vocal style that is unequealed, but his compatriots also kick in here and can revv up your nightlights with their vocal arrangements as well.
Michael's songs range from a few gospel influenced fabulous songs "Looking for a Miracle" and "Yield not to Temptation", that will just have you sitting up and praising Michael's vocals and his ability to get your feet to stomping to a sweet arrangement of Sam and Dave's song "Part Time Love". This CD is a must for any Finnigan fan, and for those of you who are not familiar with the smokin Hammond B3 and Leslie speakers coupled with bluesy rich vocals of Finnigan then you should get yourself a good bottle of your favorite, kick back and let this CD just make you sweat with the blues, hopes and fun of another great collection from this much underappreciated great Finnigan.

12. Rose La Rose - 4:34

Blues laced rock with a balance of power, emotion, and gritty reality. Add inspiring vocals, soaring guitar work and dazzling keyboards for a listening sensation. The Miller Brothers Band brings us the raw sounds and emotions of the "blue collar" belt, not just of America but of any country in the world. They are a natural progression from early Springsteen, when singing about everyday life of the working class to a belting rock beat became cool. The band -- not all of them are Millers -- bring us face to face with life as it is lived by the majority of people but they do it with musical class. This is in every way the sound of the street, as exemplified by "Alabama Key," written about family tradition. "Wolf at Your Door" is a strong song with resonances in all too many lives as we try to make ends meet while others have plenty -- and not necessarily by working for it.That wolf at the door can all too often result in people losing all that they hold dear, and the track "Ghost on a Roll" brings this aspect of modern life into sharp focus. It is my favourite track on the album. This is a powerful album of strong songs that appear to be heartfelt and all the more moving because of this.

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Clay McClinton’s musical sound is woven together with rawhide and hemp, barbwire and willow reed. It’s that eclectic sound born in Texas where honky tonk, Delta blues and soulful rock meld seamlessly. Clay’s music introduces “alternative country” to “contemporary blues,” and the two genres become fast friends. His  CD, Son of a Gun, boasts plenty of gutsy, gritty lyrics laid on a strong musical bed. “The Man I Wanna Be,” is an inward-looking, country conversational tune with a haunting melody. Clay moves from there to the Texas romp of “Worn Down To The Bone,” and the two-stepping lost-love tune, “Missing You,” which is one of two songs on the album that he co-wrote with his dad, Delbert McClinton. Delbert provides backup vocals on “Missing You” and also co-wrote “Howlin’ at the Moon.” “This album has a lot more co-writes than my first one,” Clay says. “I like writing by myself, and I have a lot of songs under my hat that I’ve written, but I’m enjoying co-writing as well".

Jim Schwarz, label owner and producer, is a solid vocalist, too. The band's style distantly related to the early days of the Butterfield Blues Band. Not bad (with the exception of the rather cheesy cover art). JIMMY SCHWARZ - hca/voc, PAUL STILIN - gtrs, KENT KNAPP - bass, MARC WILSON - drums, etc.

Pete Mitchell alias Stratmaster - Rocking Blues Guitarist/ Singer-Songwriter from UK. 70s Jammed with Muddy Waters in London, while working with own band 'Special Brew' who were signed to Dick James Music in London. 80s Worked with Carl Wayne from the 'Move' on solo project. Worked with Roger Giffin from 'The Magic Mushroom Band'. 80/90s Worked with own band 'DRIVE' Rocking Boogie Blues Power Trio.  2005 Started working on solo CD project 'Cutting The Mustard'. All 10 trax are self-penned original songs, and are guitar driven. Passionate about the Blues in various forms, and passionate about the guitar! 'Cutting The Mustard' is in the genre CROSSOVER Electric Blues/Country-Rock. Imagine Freddie King with the drive of Billy Gibbons, and the feel of Stevie Ray Vaughan, and you have Pete Mitchell alias STRATMASTER/
"Cutting the mustard" was an expression I grew up with. If you can't cut it, you are pretty far gone, croaking, as weak as you can get without cashing in your chips.Pete Mitchell, with a unique voice and a swinging guitar, otherwise known as The Stratmaster, is certainly still cutting the mustard. He's got a beautiful guitar presence and the music -- though a little dated, like most blues -- is really for grooving. I never typed to a groove before. Da da da da dah! Can't sit still to these easy lyrics, smooth voice and sulfurized guitar licks. "Free Man" and "I'm Gonna Get You" are excellent rocking blues songs. Lyrics in "I'm Gonna Get You" are a little crazy in a creepy/erotic way. But the music, the music is to die for. Ditto for "Bee My Honey." A little bit of macho lyrics going on here, but the beat of the song is so much fun, you can almost ignore it. "Outside Looking In" is a great reminiscing song about finding a guitar and being in a band. This song mentions Elvis and Lennon as influences, and I'd say if Lennon ever sang electric country blues he'd have had a blast singing with Mitchell. "Touche" brings us closer to Springsteen in sound, but the lyrics are simpler and sharper. I tried not to like this CD because he's hard on women: "Instead of talking nice to me / You just scream and shout / You've got this kind of complex / That you're highly strung / Listen to those same old lies / rolling off your tongue."

Bluesman Tom Malafarina is a blues singer/songwriter from the Reading, PA area. “Bluesman Tom” Malafarina was born in Ashland, Pennsylvania in the heart of the “Hard Coal” region. He grew up in this hard working, hard drinking blue-collar community amid pitifully low income levels and frighteningly high unemployment rates. From this humble, constantly struggling community, with its strong ethnic bonds, Tom learned the importance of hard work, honesty, determination and most importantly, the need for keeping a good sense of humor about life in general. In 1967 at the age of twelve Tom began his life-long love of music. Tom spent countless hours practicing his guitar until it became an extension of his soul. Tom never sought to be a “lead guitarist” or “guitar soloist” but concentrated on rhythm and bass guitar. He enjoyed strumming and picking and combining notes to form chords and riffs that allowed him to express his emotions through the songs he wrote. During the 1970's Tom play in a variety of local bands of all types. It was at this time that he first became familiar with the blues through some of the well-known British Blues Artists of the time like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck.  His original blues tunes can be heard world wide on both commercial, college, public radio stations as well as internet broadcasts and podcasts.

Good Thang explores R&B, rock, pop, and electronica, but it's all about love: JB's love for classic soul and blues, love of driving old-school synth-funk bass, and, most important, love for his family. At the heart of this collection of feel-good grooves are the title track and "Lil Mama's in the Kitchen" -- graceful essays on the joys of domestic bliss that capture Good Thang's distinctive mix of organic sounds and cutting-edge production.Good Thang follows 2009's Black John, which yielded the radio hit "Betty Jean," and 2007's The Good Girl Blues, a funky blend of classic and modern blues, soul, rock, funk and hip-hop. JB's unique stylistic fusion has won praise from Rolling Stone, NPR and others. And he's toured and recorded with fellow trailblazers Miles Davis, Dr. Dré, Nikka Costa, and Eminem, but his experimental roots go back to his eight years on guitar and keyboards in pioneering ska-funk-punk band Fishbone.

Blues, R&B, soul, all in a gutsy voice, and all about down-home food/Created by award-winning food writer and composer Elliot Essman, Blues Cookbook is a CD of fourteen blues songs that all have to do with cooking and food. Written in a variety of urban and traditional blues styles, the songs in Blues Cookbook are filled with cooking advice for such down-home favorites as chicken-fried steak, cornbread, okra, sweet potato pie, pan-fried chicken, collard greens, barbecue, biscuits, and more. “I’ve been playing blues guitar, piano and harmonica since I was a teenager,” says Essman. “After recording the song Gumbo and realizing I’d belted out what amounted to a musical recipe, I developed the full menu. Southern cuisine was a natural. You can’t very well write a credible blues song about wilted field greens over pan-seared porcini mushrooms in an aged balsamic vinaigrette.” One number, Southern Fried Catfish, done in gospel style, provides a complete recipe for the dish in less than a minute. Other songs, like Pralines and Rice and Beans, use styles reminiscent of John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters, taking their sweet bluesy time to meld all the flavors. Hip hop style Piggy Food covers the full range of pork offerings, from bacon to barbecue, and even winds up speculating in pork belly futures. Whole Mess of Greens and Okra add some healthy vegetables to the mix. Perhaps the most unusual song on Blues Cookbook is a unique “paean to pans.” His audio engineer told Essman that Cast Iron Pans was a true love song, dedicated to cookware rather than to a sweetheart. “People love cast iron,” Essman insists. “They pass well-seasoned pots and pans down as heirlooms. My girlfriend understands this and is not jealous.” Essman is a blue ribbon graduate of the Baking and Pastry program at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. He was nominated for the James Beard Foundation Journalism Award in 2005 for his food and beverage writing.

There were times when the Blues party continued on into the next day! Ben Reel plays rock with a touch of roots, blues & soul with an occasional injection of reggae. Critically acclaimed all over Europe, his vocals are soulful and his lyrics meaningful. Lately Ben has earned the respect and shared the stage with some Nashville greats like Nancy Griffith, Hal Kethcum, Eric Andersen & David Olney .You never quite know what to expect from Ben Reel.  Over his previous 5 studio albums he’s touched on rock, soul, blues, alt-folk, Americana and even indulged in a little reggae. His  album, his first recorded and produced in his own home studio in Co. Armagh continues to keep fans on their toes – the opening title track is a monster with a wonderfully soulful funky indie groove. But sadly the album doesn’t stick with that killer theme.  ‘River Of Time’ sounds like Dire Straits meets Chris de Burgh (which is better than you might think), ‘Watershed’ brings the Big O to mind, while ‘Heart Just Won’t Fail’ is heavily reminiscent of the Mersey’s ‘Sorrow’ (covered by Bowie on ‘Pin Ups’).‘Before Your Time’ echoes The Boss (with a hint of Dylan) in storytelling gospel mode, ‘Counting Down The Days’ continues in the same theme but takes a more Van The Man bluesy perspective and is another highlight, while ‘You’re Not Alone’ returns to the Big O theme. ‘Flickering Light’ has soulful groove with some lovely slide guitar work, ‘What Is Done’  is another bluesy number, while’ Could Have Done’ is The Eagles crossed with Springsteen tripping down the West Coast.  The closer, ‘Our Father’s Sins’ is simply anthemic.Recorded digitally, but with an analog warmth, ‘Darkness & Light’ might, on face value, seem a little derivative.  But the truth is, it immediately has the comfort of an old jumper, and on each subsequent listen begins to sound more and more like the best knitwear in town.(Review by Pete Whalley,2013 г.)
