Harmony is serious business where the Dedicated Men of Zion come from. For their eldest member Anthony “Amp” Daniels, it was so serious that every day his mother would call her children inside, turn off the television, and make them sing in harmony, talk in harmony, do everything in harmony. Singing well together was a virtue that she and her sisters had learned from their own father, and Anthony gave it to his children in return. Older folks in the Black communities of rural North Carolina relied on that singing for everything in a time when both respect and money were especially scarce. “That’s where that seriousness is from,” Amp remembers. “They demand respect. They’re serious about what they do and they don’t play with God.”
The Dedicated Men of Zion came up out of this singing land of eastern North Carolina, around the city of Greenville and its small neighboring town of Farmville. Each trained in the church and the home, the group’s four vocalists – Anthony Daniels, Antwan Daniels, Dexter Weaver, and Marcus Sugg – share the bond of that upbringing and another more literal bond of kinship (they’re all family now through blood or marriage). Theirs is a community dense with talent and legendary impact on the origins of gospel, funk, R&B, soul, and jazz; a place where the sounds of Saturday night and Sunday morning couldn’t help but jump their lanes. The group’s own backgrounds tell that story. Anthony Daniels, the eldest of the group, led a career in R&B down in Atlanta, backing up the likes of Bebe Winans, Toni Braxton, and Elton John. Antwan Daniels, the youngest member and son of Anthony, was playing keyboards and organ in church while simultaneously injecting his hip-hop production work with traditional gospel roots. But the church was always the backbone. Weaver, whose grandmother managed several gospel groups around Greenville, had sung with elder quartet groups for years, running into Anthony Daniels around the sacred soul circuit. When they both found themselves without a group, Weaver turned to Daniels and said “I don’t know what you’re gonna do but if you do something, I’m on board with you. I want to be with you.” In 2014 Weaver and Daniels, with Antwan on keys, came together to form the Dedicated Men of Zion’s original iteration, along with singers Trevoris Newton and Darren Cannon. The group was quickly gaining a following in eastern North Carolina when Newton suddenly passed away in 2018. The loss of one member was soon followed by Cannon’s departure. The arrival of Marcus Sugg re-completed the group. Sugg, who had grown up singing in church choirs and a little on the side during a stint in the military, was soon to be Anthony Daniels’ son in law. It was with this new vocal lineup that the Dedicated Men of Zion caught the attention of the Music Maker Relief Foundation while performing in a church concert organized by Music Maker and the Glorifying Vines Sisters, the longstanding Farmville gospel institution of Anthony Daniel’s mother and aunts. Joining Music Maker’s artist roster of roots musicians from across the South, the Dedicated Men of Zion began reaching new audiences not yet clued in to the rhythmic, electrified, sacred sounds of the rural southeast. Sacred Soul, being the music of personal and collective survival, even secular audiences were catching the spirit of joy and determination. The message, for Anthony Daniels, was always that “if He did it for me, He’ll do it for you. Just keep praying and love one another.” In troubled times, there’s a need for a hopeful word and a testimony that there is a way. Through Music Maker, the group connected with the newly founded record label Bible & Tire Recording Co., helmed by producer Bruce Watson of Fat Possum Records. Watson had been listening to the hard-praising drive of country gospel coming straight from the church which he’d later coin as “sacred soul”. His new label was delivering that genuine soul sound beyond the church circuits from which it came. The gospel music coming out of those small rural Black churches was in fact the headwaters of much of the commercial music made over the last half century, and Watson was ready to bet that mass audiences, already familiar with the sounds of classic soul, would discover a hunger for gospel’s emotional truth and purposefulness. The Dedicated Men of Zion’s, Can’t Turn Me Around, was recorded in Memphis at Watson’s Delta-Sonic Sound in 2019. Backed by Watson’s all-star studio band, the recordings bring great depth to the incredible harmonies that soar above. The album marks a moment of clarity for the group. By embracing their roots, they knew they were pointedly taking a right turn where some of their peers had veered left in a race to make gospel sound like anything other than what it was back in the day: soul music.
Each track on Can’t Turn Me Around comes from that overflowing heritage of sacred soul. Tradition sets a high standard of excellence. What more can new artists pour into that cup? The Dedicated Men of Zion accepted that challenge with the seriousness of their raising and the joy of spiritual inspiration. With their second album they get back to where they came from – soul and the salvation of harmony. In Anthony Daniels’ own words, “You want to live, get to where the root is. Get close to the root.”

"Greyboy Blues" is an out-of-the-mold kind of blues album, avoiding all the genre clichés, though keeping the spirit and structure, with special attention to meaningful lyrics written by Leadfoot Rivet himself or borrowed from fine craftsmen like Earl King, Eric Bibb or David Ackles. A distinctive, powerful and expressive voice is the signature of Leadfoot Rivet balancing between fiery southern soul-man passion and witty blues shouter social commentary. As usual, he is surrounded by cream-of-the-crop local musicians plus prestigious guests like Tom Principato, Joanna Connor (for a memorable duet), Neal Black and Fred Chapellier. A great achievement that warrants a try-out. This might be a pleasant surprise.

Rich Harper learned to play blues guitar the traditional way by listening to and learning from the recordings of artists like Eric Clapton, B. B. King, Rory Gallagher, Freddy King, Duane Allman, and so on. Rich developed his own slide style using the same Coricidin medicine bottle as Duane Allman. After paying his “blues dues” in small blue collar towns throughout Pennsylvania, Rich moved to Los Angeles to gather like minded musicians and formed the Rich Harper Blues Band. “Go With The Flow” is the 2020 farewell album release of the Rich Harper Band.Included on this album are 3 songs that were released as singles but never on any album, “Life Is An Odyssey”, “I Know (Marie’s Song)” and the studio version of “Onward (Imagine That)". 2 songs that were not released on the “Musician Standard Time” album, “Killin’ Me” & “It Should Be Easy”. 2 songs that were recorded during the “Ellwood & Me” album recording sessions, “Watch Out For That Girl” & “Can’t Get No Lovin”. 5 recently written & recorded songs exclusively for this album, “I Want Love”, “Go With The Flow”, “All Because Of You”, “Soul Of Gold” & “Heaven’s When I’m With You”. Completing the album are 4 songs recorded live straight from the mixing board at Lillehammer Mikrobryggeri in Norway of June 2019 during the Farewell Scandinavian Tour 2019. We in RHB would like to thank you all for your support through all of these years. We hope you enjoy this album as much as we did recording it. Love you all.

Fat Bastard Blues Band was put together by Carl Wetter in the fall of 2009. A few weeks and two rehearsals later, the band played their first gig and won the Triangle Blues Society’s Blues Challenge.Although the band was put together in a moment of inspiration, the individual Bastards have a long history together. Jason Simons, Kevin Payne and front man Carl Wetter played together during their college days in upstate New York. Tim Collins and David Terrenoire met at a local blues jam ten years ago and have played together in one band or another ever since. That’s the history. Today, their music jumps up and shakes a room with performances that mark this band as a force of nature, a blue wind that rattles the trees like an oncoming storm.
Since their formation they have played the Memphis Blues Challenge, opened the 2010 Bull Durham Blues Festival and have kept local fans dancing as if the floor was on fire. Why Fat Bastards? We are the illegitimate children of all the players who have taken the stage before us. Our goal is to energize our roots by taking something from all of our influences and putting that cross-cultural magic back into the blues, America’s music. And we come out fat, with nothing held back.

Bob Corlett - Bad Situation

Tracks Listing:
1.Old Times, Good Times - 3:35

3.Coconut Milk - 3:47
4. 24 Hours Of The Day - 4:20
5. Louisiana 1927 - 4:05
6. Bad Situation - 3:54

Just when you start to think that those “End of Days” whackjobs are right, along comes something that makes you feel a little better about the human condition. Case in point: Bob Corlett’s new release, Bad Situation. In the spirit of full disclosure, I’ll admit that I’ve known and played music with “Bayou Bob” for years. Singer, songwriter, pianist, accordionist, devotee of N’yawlins music, cuisine and culture… It’s hard not to like a guy who brings a healthy dose of spice and soul to every occasion — from spirited jam sessions at Akron’s fabled BLU Jazz+ and raucous gigs with his shit-hot band The Zydeco Kings, to freewheeling conversations about our favorite Crescent City artists.
Bob’s latest release builds on a rich legacy that dates back to his first live shows with his band The Malibus back in the late ‘60s. I entered the picture in ’92 when I joined him in the blues-soul band The Business, then the next year we became founding members of the wildly popular Wanda Hunt Band (this was back when live music was king and the term “binge-watching” was primarily used to describe members of the Audubon Society). In one of the wisest moves he’s made in his career, Bob decided to enlist the prodigious chops of multi-instrumentalist Wes McCraw (guitars, bass, synth, drums and percussion). As co-producers, Bob and Wes brought a laser-like focus to the album’s uncommonly rich sound, then added a little extra spice with background singers Becky Plush and Mike McClosky. The end result? A homegrown project that should be the envy of any self-respecting major label.
Let’s sample this tasty platter song-by-song:
We’re off to a rousing start with the Big Easy shuffle of Old Times, Good Times, a tune co-written by Bob and Cleveland-area folk legend Charlie Wiener. “Come with me, let’s live that dream; hot summer nights down in New Orleans… shake off the years, see how life can feel, sip on a Hurricane and kick up our heels…” Then McCraw kicks that sweet, soulful vibe into overdrive with a riveting guitar solo (both with and without slide). Reminds me of Muddy Waters’ spoken-word aside on Louisiana Blues: “Oh take me with you, man, when you goin’.” Old Times, Good Times
Speaking of blues legends, Leadbelly gets the full Corlett/McCraw treatment with a funky, rollicking take on the old chestnut Goodnight, Irene. Bob gets plenty of room to show why he has very few peers in these here parts when it comes to bluesy barrelhouse piano. McCraw throws in more tasty guitar. And the Plush/McClosky choir brings a churchy feel to the proceedings (think late-night service, right before closing time). Goodnight Irene
Now we’re in full second-line mode with a blistering cover of one of my NOLA faves, Coconut Milk by Bo Dollis (former Big Chief of the Wild Magnolias). Corlett powers the tune with his locomotive piano and organ, punctuated by McCraw’s stinging blues fills. Dear Akronians: If you’ve ever been to New Orleans, you know how lucky we are to have musicians in our own backyard who know how to play this shit. Now get back to your Galley Boys (and don’t forget to mow the Devil Strip). Coconut Milk
Next up: It’s Love Baby (24 Hours a Day), a tune written by Ted Jarrett and originally performed in 1955 by his friend Earl Gaines, lead singer for Louis Brooks and His Hi-Toppers. “I kind of stole Dr. John’s version for my band The Zydeco Kings, but Delbert McClinton’s take on it is my favorite,” Bob said. “My ultimate test for good songs to cover is fairly simple: any song I enjoy playing and singing.” Delbert would definitely approve of the steady-rolling roadhouse groove on this one. It’s Love Baby (24 Hours a Day)
I’ve always enjoyed Bob’s heartfelt performances of Randy Newman’s signature song, Louisiana 1927. “What has happened down here is the wind has changed; clouds roll in from the north and it start to rain…” Hey, it’s not all about letting the bon ton roulet. A lot of bad stuff happens in Louisiana too — the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927, Katrina, viral hot spots… Makes you yearn for the days when a real sleeper like Calvin Coolidge ran the country. Louisiana 1927
Last but certainly not least, Bob gets to show off his mad accordion skills on the self-penned Bad Situation. “I had pages and pages of lyrics that were my attempts to be thoughtful and profound,” Bob said. “Finally I thought, keep it simple and write about something you know, and that resulted in Bad Situation.” The title might allude to these dangerous times, but it’s a bit of a red herring when it comes to describing the song’s joyous Zydeco soul.

"Big" Al Dorn & The Blues Howlers bring an original, authentic and polished Blues sound with a sprinkle of West-Coast Swing to go with it. Super Smokin' Grooves, coupled together with savage, powerful harmonica and stinging guitar, they play original tunes with a fiery passion with nods to Blues legends John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, the Three Kings, all the great harp players, along with legendary local players like Reverend Raven, Jim Liban, The Blues Disciples and MANY MORE!!!!!! This band is an absolute force to be reckoned with, and a “Must See”!!!!!
“Big” Al began his career playing on the east-side of Milwaukee before reaching the legal age. Upon hearing a John Lee Hooker record with Jimmy Reed on harmonica, Al started focusing on harmonica instead of guitar. After 3 years of dropping and picking up various instruments and genres of music, Al realized that the Blues was where his heart truly laid. Over the years, Al has toured, played with and opened for several Legendary Blues artists and bands such as Billy Branch, Corky Siegel, Jim Liban, Reverend Raven & The Chain Smokin’ Altar Boys, Paul Filipowicz and Many More!!!
“Big” Al Dorn & The Blues Howlers are true professionals, honoring their influences such as John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Little Walter and of course, The Greats William Clarke and Rod Piazza.
Eventually, "Big" Al's talent began to be noticed and praised by the veterans of the Milwaukee Blues community.  At 14 years old, he met and forged a long lasting friendship and collaboration with local Blues legend Reverend Raven.
Through the Reverend, "Big" Al has met, played with, and been apart of some of the biggest names of the Midwest Music Industry. He occasionally loans his talents to other local bands.
Having played in many top Wisconsin bands, "Big" Al not only adds West Coast Swing & Jazz to his unique sound, but remains completely TRUE to his Blues Roots.

In June 1980, when Muddy Waters former backing musicians decided to quit, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith (drums), Pinetop Perkins (piano), Louis Myers (harmonica/guitar), Calvin "Fuzz" Jones (bass guitar), and Jerry Portnoy (harmonica), formed the Legendary Blues Band. Troy Redfern - Island

7. Era's End - 3:52
8. Fighting Forms - 1:30
9. Lay My Body Down - 2:28
10. Emma - 2:55

It seems hard to believe that purveyor of savage, slide-slaughtering music Troy Redfern has, like the rest of us, been locked down. He’s put the time to good use though, using some of that valuable, introspective insight to create his very own Island. Over three weeks Troy has juggled all instruments needed for its formation, including his ’29 National Triolian and ’36 May Bell Parlour Guitar, alongside a whole catalogue of different rhythm, wind and vocal embellishments.
“Doing Time” tears a hole in the solitude, in true Troy style; abrasive vocals, violent rhythms, searing slide and cutting lyrics. Next up is an arguably gentler, acoustic approach to “Falling Down”, putting that old resonator to good use. Troy’s “falling down on his knees”, as the foot-stomping rhythm pummels forward under the distinctive Triolian lead.
Troy’s instrumental “Call To Prayer” conjures an ethereal and exotic landscape of intriguing imagery; a minaret floats on the horizon of a ranging desert, and aromatic spices fill the air. With plenty of atmospheric cymbals, finger picking and fleeting notes of a sax, this is a sound you’ll be happy to lose yourself in. Staying firmly in this surreal world, instrumental title track “Island” paints an image of sea-washed shores and Turner skies, a sort of stepping-stone between Pink Floyd and Mendelssohn’s “Fingal’s Cave”. “Hallowed Ground” pulls us back down to earth, with its gritty lyrics and traditional blues groove, as shadows reach out across this Island’s hallowed ground; a reflection of our own present-day dystopia. We find ourselves at “Era’s End”, an odd, unworldly sort of ’60’s Pong video game, with acoustic accompaniment! This 14-track invention is an eclectic soundscape, though I can’t overlook the traditional, acoustic Louisianan road shack-styled “Lay My Body Down”, or Troy’s slide-savaging, raw rendition of the glorious, “John The Revelator”. Plucked from the antisocial solitude into which mankind has been plunged, this is a thought-provoking selection of songs and sketches. It’s encouraging to see so many people investing this new time in reflection and hope for our future. Let’s all hope we see the return of live music from the likes of Troy Redfern.

12. Treat Me Like A Dog - 3:11
13. I Hear You Knocking - 3:03

Musicians:
Pete Wells - vocals/bass;
Chris Turner -  vocals/guitar;
Rob Grosser - drums.

In mid 2003,  the late Rose Tattoo guitarist,  Pete Wells formed  the short lived blues rock band,  Rocks Push.  The band also featured the immensely experienced English born guitarist, Chris Turner,  and the great drummer from Adelaide, Australia,  Rob Grosser.  Again, as stated before on this blog,  it's great to hear these great musicians taking a break from the sometimes overpowering AOR sound,  and going back to the blues.  "Three Good Reasons For The Blues"  is a great album.  Terrific power blues rock played by three very experienced musicians.  As well as a few originals,  the album includes three Willie Dixon songs.  There is also a great version of the Samwell/Potter tune, "What'cha Gonna Do About It ", which interestingly enough was covered in 1966 by the British Small Faces band with Steve Marriott, and Ronnie Lane.  The late Pete Wells plays bass on this album. Chris Turner's guitar work, and Rob Grosser's  drumming is faultless.  "Three Good Reasons For The Blues" really rocks.  Try and listen to Pete Wells'  last recording,  "Bodgie Dada" album, which is a great collection of classic blues covers.  Tim Gaze & Rob Grosser's "River City Blues" album is also worth a listen,  as is Chris Turner's  'Guitar Stories Vol. 1' album.   Rob Grosser also played on The Hoochie Coochie Men's s/t alnum,  featuring Deep Purple's Jon Lord, which is electric / acoustic blues at it's best,  and well worth seeking out.

9. High Heel Sneakers - 3:39
10.Blues For Big Nate - 2:59

For their second album, the Legendary Blues Band -- featuring members of Muddy Waters backing band, including Pinetop Perkins, Peter Ward, Calvin Jones, Jerry Portnoy and Willie Smith -- nearly captured the big, powerful sound of Muddy at his peak. Perkins and Jones don't have the same presence as Waters, but they're fine vocalists in their own right, and the band itself has the same intoxicating rush that made such latter-day Muddy efforts as Hard Again so enjoyable. And that means that Red Hot 'N' Blue is as close to Waters as you're going to get without Muddy himself -- and that means it's one of the better Chicago blues records of its era.

10.There's a Sad Story Here -04:53
11.Wait for Me - 3:29
12. Lyla Tov (Good Night) - 4:18

This disc blurs the boundaries between soul music and the blues even further for this hot Texas singer, who was raised in the Dallas area listening to all that Texas has to offer. Now based in Boston, this singer runs the whole gamut of emotions with his experienced and well-traveled tenor voice. He has also put together a crack band that stays with the song wherever it goes. Be it deep-down Chicago-style blues as on "At-Cha-Mama-Nims," a harmonica-driven instrumental, which he penned with his long time bassist, Steve Gomes; or the fantastic cover of R.C. Hammond's "There Goes That Train," a slow Southern soul/blues cut that leads off this disc. Nulisch has served his time and his resume is impressive, being the singer both for Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters and for Anson Funderburg and the Rockets, as well as his own band Texas Heat. He is well-traveled, and his voice is expressive, capable of wringing out all the emotional angst that there is to be had in a song. His harp work is better than average and truly shines on "Like Reed." The album stays together very well until you come to the last cut, "Lyla Tov (Good Night)," a jazzy noodling that seems out of place. Also this disc gives notice that Jon Moeller, who handles the guitar work, is going to a force to be reckoned with in the future. Just give a listen to George "Harmonica" Smith's "Telephone Blues" and try to convince someone that this sizzling work won't be shining somewhere in the future. The band is good and does justice to the fine material picked out for your aural pleasure.

Matt Edwards is one hugely talented singer/musician. This is a great debut album that will grow in value as he rises in the music industry. He writes his own songs, is a very tasty guitar player, influenced by the blues but his music is so varied there's something here for everyone. He has a great voice, and with a new album coming out as well (an absolute cracker of a follow up), this young man deserves to be as big as Joe Bonamassa, here this and you'll see what I mean. The sound of this as I say debut set is top drawer all the way. Live well, you got to catch him. Saw him supporting Buddy Whittington where he was simply amazing, then at a festival again another great set, this is definitely one very fine and exiting talent your going to hear much more of.A great debut, some superb songs by one highly talented musician, !

Matt Edwards is a singer/songwriter who shares his life experiences like a drunken prophet preaching of life, love and loss. Edwards has a great rasp, a solid wail, enough twang and drawl to straddle the line between country and rock (and it is most definitely both), one that is to his credit and will appeal to a wider audience of southern true believers and Austin and NW alt-country lovers.Backed up by The Lonely, a tight, punk-blues driven rhythm section and exceptional yet tasteful guitar talent, Matt Edwards brings a raucous, diversified sound to any venue. Too country for rock, too rock for country, Matt Edwards & The Lonely defies classification but brings an indelible, undeniable sound that any audience will remember.Give them a beer and ten minutes, and 2 hours and a 6 pack later you won't have scratched the surface.

Groovy brings a jam-ready mentality together with sharp-edged songcraft. The material is united by that central undercurrent – timeless and undeniable. “We spent the better part of a year jamming, developing ideas and fine tuning arrangements,” Harrington informs. “This is the first time since the self-titled record that we took the time to really flesh out song structures, tempos, etc. I always talk about the ‘three pillars’ of the Geezer sound: heavy, trippy and groovy. With this album, some songs are heavy, some are trippy, but they ALL had to be groovy.” Regardless of tempo, mood, or any other theme that might show up in the songs, Groovy is a love-letter to groove itself, and in paying that homage, Geezer have discovered the truest reality of themselves yet. Whatever else groovy is, it’s them.

Buffalo Fuzz is a tough-toned, supremely distorted heavy blues/rock duo from Minnesota that gets it done the hard way on its latest release Volume II. The record drops June 5th, 2020 and is overloaded with gritty blues/stoner/doom tracks that hit harder than expected. Jared Zachary (guitar, lead vocals) and Jake Allan (drums, backing vocals) are a two-man groove factory in the Black Sabbath mode, kicking out power-chord-and-drum jams topped with wailing vocals that often deal with themes of life and death. Sadly, those themes hit way too close to home in this case, as drummer Allan took his own life a month after completing these recording sessions. After Allan’s loss, Buffalo Fuzz ground to a halt and the 11 tracks laid down for Volume II were shelved for many months until remaining band member Zachary was able to return to them. He finally finished the mixes of these songs captured on the exact same Studer tape machine that recorded Nirvana’s In Utero and now we can hear the greatness the two men achieved. This was to be the second Buffalo Fuzz release, a record full of growth and future promise. Instead, it’s become a posthumous tribute to what could have been and lets the world hear Zachary and Allan’s final sessions together. It’s a tremendously powerful set that digs deep into the human condition and the existential despair of the blues.Volume II goes hard from the first needle drop on the opening song “The Reaper.” It’s an uptempo shuffle but this is the furthest thing from a party record you’re likely to hear this year. The track, like the whole album, comes off as a lamentation. Zachary and Allen tap into the angst and darkness at the heart of blues music like two 21st Century Robert Johnsons. They rock hard and exhale the pain of living in every note and word. The chorus is bone-chilling and unsettling below its driving rhythm and the two men wail their vocal harmonies as if Ol’ Scratch were really chasing them down. The journey continues with the outsider anthem “Black Sheep Blues.” It’s a big blast of timeless riff rock and the raw-nerve energy of someone who is always on the outside looking in. Zachary’s voice swims in reverb and soars over the track’s primal pocket. Buffalo Fuzz is undoubtedly the biggest-sounding rock duo of all time and this song displays the stadium-sized thrills the pair were capable of.“I’m On Fire” is moody and full of a smoldering intensity aimed squarely at the female object of a man’s desire. Jared and Jake harmonize powerfully while conjuring a below-the-belt groove that leaves little to the mind’s eye. The raw vulnerability of this band is the spark that drives its wheels, pulls you into its world, and makes you understand. There’s nothing forced or phony here and the two men hold nothing back. They mean every second of this record and cut through the plastic cheese that currently passes for rock music like a samurai sword.“Buffalo Stomp” is a commanding hard rock song with an apocalyptic vibe that fits the zeitgeist of our ongoing pandemic experience exceptionally well. “You’ll feel it shaking through the ground when the buffalo puts his foot down” Zachary sings with an intimidating intent that will make you stop and contemplate if we’re really facing the end. The drums and guitars rage and roar, defining the track’s ragged glory.Deeper into Volume II, Zachary and Allen surprise listeners with a totally sludged-out take on Cream’s “Sunshine Of Your Love” that’s slow, heavy, and spectacular. Imagine Ozzy and Iommi writing this instead of Clapton and Bruce and you’ll get it. Be sure to also spin “Bad Circulation” and “Too Young To Die.” Buffalo Fuzz is/was a rock band with truly legendary potential and Volume II is proof positive of that fact. Hopefully, Zachary will find a way to continue the group, as this is the kind of music that touches lives and creates forever fans. Play these tracks loud and revel in their catharsis.

Bridget Kelly Band is excited to announce the release of their much-anticipated 6th album on Alpha Sun Records. All original tracks, co-written by Bridget Kelly & Tim Fik. Enjoy! It's the Sacred Space in your heart when you're in crises and carry pain that others may not see. That empty feeling, when life requires you to keep going and you'll have to push through to the other side. The songs focus on optimism and that with God, positive thinking, and perhaps even dancing, you can get through anything. I can't think of a more perfect time for optimism. Stay well and know that you're loved!

On his second release since returning to solo soul stardom, Bryant capitalizes off the success of his 2017 release Don’t Give Up on Love. On his newest album You Make Me Feel, he’s also reaching back into his own catalog, with a fresh take on songs he wrote long ago. From reprises of his own songs such as Don’t Turn Your Back on Me and I’ll Go Crazy, Bryant finds new emotions within himself to share, alongside a cover of Little Junior Parker’s Cracked Up Over You, which Don admits he forgot he wrote after so many years of contributing to other artists’ catalogs. Most touching, however, is a new version of 99 Lbs., in which Don sings about his loving wife, as she no longer sings about herself. In addition to giving new life to his classic material, Bryant’s latest collection includes new, never released songs, such as the heart wrenching ode Is It Over and the soul stirring dance tune Your Love is to Blame. Though he took several decades before returning to his love for soul music, Bryant says this album is a part of perfect timing for his heart, spirit and craft.

In June 2020, the new blues trio released their third album, finally fulfilling their wish. The right title: "Blues For You".
The album is a collection of ten songs, all played live and on stage in front of cheering audiences. And the band is really accelerating! Michi Lang on drums, Fabian Spang on vocals, guitar and electric Dobro and Ina Spang on lead guitar and mandolin heat up the audience.
The first song is a funky version of "If Trouble Was Money". And with wah-wah sound, dynamic beats and an exuberant improvisation section it is clear from the start: The band moves freely in their music, is detached from conventional and one-dimensional expectations of the blues. And so creates her very own "New Blues". The soulful reinterpretation of Dylan's song "Day Of The Locusts" as a touching ballad or the earthy original composition "Blue Trailer Blues" find the trademark sound, the MUDDY WHAT? among many other peculiarities.
The title song "Blues For You" shows how much the three musicians have grown together with a feeling for the blues. A melancholic, long lament with energetic and powerful vocals, with triplets that bring you into a trance and with soulful, snotty solos by the lead guitarist. With seemingly never-ending intensity, the song increases until eventually everything finally gives in to the feeling of the mighty blues. MUDDY WHAT? but then immediately with her pushing version of Jimi Hendrix's "If Six Was Nine". With pulsating electric guitar sounds, vehement vocals and hidden hip-hop beats, the inner eye sees the audience dancing ecstatically.
You can clearly hear, not least from the encore (a percussive oriental-style composition with the title "Mandorient" with mandolin and dobro), that the three young musicians do not fit into the "usual blues scheme", but do what they want to do they like. And only rely on feeling and feeling for each other. And how well that ultimately arrives in front of the stage can even be heard thanks to the live recording on this album.
“Blues For You” captured all of this in one flow: the uninterrupted dynamism and the stimulating tension between musicians and audience during a live concert.
