Richard Ray Farrell, from Niagara Falls, NY (1956) is an American blues guitarist, singer, songwriter, harmonica player and international recording artist. In 1976 Richard started busking and playing professionally in Paris, France. He is comfortable as a solo acoustic artist or fronting his own band on the electric guitar. Richard toured with American artists RL Burnside, Louisiana Red, Frank Frost, Big Jack Johnson, Lazy Lester and Big Boy Henry. Richard formed Farrell & Black in 1995 with Mothers of Invention drummer, Jimmy Carl Black. They produced two CD’s and toured internationally for seven years. Richard moved to Philadelphia in 2001, formed a band, and began performing with harp veteran Steve Guyger. Richard produced seven CD’s before moving to Spain in 2014.Bohemian Life (2003) contains originals and internationally acclaimed blues musicians. Acoustic Roots (2005) is solo acoustic offering blues and ragtime. Down Home Old School Country Blues (2006) with Steve Guyger has been called the best acoustic blues duo album to come out in years by Andy Grigg of Real Blues Magazine, British Columbia, Canada. Stuck On The Blues (2007) is acoustic with Italian harmonica virtuoso Marco Pandolfi. Camino de Sanlucar (2009), features legendary Spanish flamenco and rock guitarist Raimundo Amador. I Sing The Blues Eclectic (2011) delivers twelve originals and Shoe Shoppin’ Woman (2014) offers 8 originals and 3 blues classics. These CD’s charted in the US and achieved acclaim from critics worldwide. Now Richard is back in the studio with a new electric project and is a 2021 Nominee for Acoustic Blues Album Of The Year from The Blues Foundation in Memphis,Tennessee! Stay Tuned!
