Fish Eyed Blues officially formed in 2016.
Fish Eyed Blues spins a mix of traditional and contemporary blues along with blues rock, giving it their own interpretation, merging the spirit and the soul of the blues with the energy of rock and roll, while respecting the artists that created it. Add in improv jams mixed with rock and funk, Fish Eyed Blues takes the blues and gives it its own makeover. FEB's original material has the blues tradition with a contemporary vibe and feel. Covers by Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Freddie King, BB King, along with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, ZZ Top, Allman Bros., Hendrix, to name a few. Fish Eyed Blues plays the blues with originality and a rock and roll energy.
…weaned on 70's rock….not really knowing that it was "blues" with Marshalls… Led Zep, Aerosmith, Edgar Winter, Jeff Beck, Hendrix & Cream….(ok 60's).. Progressive rock…Kansas (wow..rock guitar tone with classical movements), Floyd (oh those Gilmour solos!!)….
Enter Stevie Ray Vaughan…hmmm..this guy sounds different….sorta like Hendrix but not really….this is blues…
lets see what this guy is about….Real Blues….3 Kings..Albert King, BB King, Freddie King…Muddy Waters…..
this changes everything….now come the 80's…err..big hair and tight pants…not for us…Thank god for Guns N Roses and Black Crowes…..back to bluesy rock! … 90's grunge, pop punk and alternative…some cool stuff..different attitude but guitar driven songs with great hooks….Then…Kenny Wayne, Johnny Lang, Chris Duartee…yes..
From there it was a little of everything…Met this guy …starts turning me on to guys like Dave Hole, Coco Montoya…
Hear bout this dude Joe Bonamassa ..go to Mexacali Blues Cafe to check him out…"holy shit"…this is is the blend….blues,,,rock,,,tone,,,soul,,,
Go to see local blues…blues fests…love the vibe….Pandora and Spotify…streaming the blues for me…old , new, hear a riff…"who's that?" check them out…Hear this dude Matt Schofield..kinda sound like Robben Ford but not really…he swings…plays jazzy…but blues…great tone…..and so on and so on we go….. blend it all together and that is what come out of us!

Jeff Bavaro: Guitar
Rich Solomon: Bass
