A tasteful blend of blues, soul and rock with hints of pop, Conversations explores communication from a range of angles. Conversations is Grant’s first full band EP, following the acoustic ‘Like A Lion’ EP in 2013.  Recorded over his time living in the U.K., every song was tracked live with the band and the energy can be heard in every beat. Grant takes the reigns as producer/engineer working to capture both the live recording vibe of classic albums from the 60’s and 70’s and the modern sound of his contemporary heroes. There is a return to Grant’s roots playing saxophone in big bands and cello in orchestras, with some funky horn lines and intricately beautiful string parts, all arranged by Grant. Grant had already begun writing some of the songs heard on ‘Conversations’ before his previous EP’s release. However, a musical journey that took him around the world meant it wasn’t till 2017 that Grant returned to the studio to work on his next release. The concept for an EP focused on communication (or ‘Conversations’) was borne from the titular song, ‘Conversation’, and Grant has written songs that explore various facets of conversation. From the communication breakdown that leads to the tragedy of YSNBA to the punch line of the witty, innuendo-laden ‘Conversation’, the listener is challenged to think about how they communicate with others in the modern world.
