Having begun as a "T-Bone Walker Tribute Band" for a show at Duff's Garage in Portland, Oregon, the reception was so enthusiastic that the players decided to keep the lineup as an act and to book it at other venues. The Bonepickers sold out shows at Jimmy Macs and headlined the Waterfront Blues Festival the following year. The album retained all of the original members of the band with the exception of the beloved Rick Welter who died on March 12th 2012.
The album was produced by bassist John "Mazoc" Mazzocco with music enthusiast Christian Selleron as executive producer with the utmost care and attention do details. The cream of the crop of Portland's session players were used and the result is just a gem of an album consisting of some of Walker's most beloved signature compositions. The Bonepickers started out because we love this music. T-boen really changed things for popular music and guitar in particular. Stellar performances here. Great guitar work and a slamming rhythm section makes this music come alive. Participants include former members of John Lee Hooker, Joe Cocker, Curtis Salgado Band, Santana, and Paris Slim! guitar god in the Mannish boys. Pick it up you won't be disappointed
