The Dirty Trainload are currently performing in a one, two or three piece version. In every case the man behind it is Bob Cillo from Bari, in the south of Italy. He basically manage his guitar, a bottleneck and some old analog drum machines loops while singing. Bob plays the blues the way he wants and feels to. Specifically, the highly personal sound of the Dirty Trainload is marked by a lo-fi inclination to sounds borrowed from alternative and garage-punk environments.
As for the other band members, Bob is usually performing with the drummer Go Balzano and occasionally with the Italian-American vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Livia "Noisance" Monteleone from California. In Fall 2007 the Dirty Trainload released their debut album "Rising Rust" as a duo; the reviewers spent plenty of kind words on it. Back then Bob was sided by Marco del Noce from Rome on vocals and harp. The second album "Trashtown" has been released in 2011. It features Bob's former band mate Noisance aka Livia Monteleone from Santa Cruz, California who sings and plays Banjo, Baritone Guitar and Percussions. In September 2014 came out the third album "A Place for Loitering" released in 12" vinyl format. All works were produced by Fabio Magistrali and were recorded in his home. No editing work and no personal computer has been involved in writing, arranging, performing, recording and mixing. From 2008 to the present the band has always devoted itself to an intense performance schedule, setting out for some cross-country Italian tours and performing in many European cities including Zurich, Berlin, London, Brighton, Copenhagen, Budapest and Paris. In England the duo recorded two sessions for the American radio show-podcast Breakthru Radio. They also performed in California, in Chicago, at the “Deep Blues Festival” in Minneapolis and in Mississippi. The Dirty Trainload is not an "emerging band" but rather is and will always be a "definitely submerged band", the underground music scene being its natural habitat. They are in it only to deliver an unsolicited trainload of dissident blues!
