Almost all the parts on the album were played by Guthrie himself. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The only thing that Guthrie Kennard started early was his musical career. At the age of 14, he played with friend and fellow musician Joe Russell in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia. He left home to travel to Atlanta, Georgia, where Joe signed with Bill Lowry's agency, which included artists such as Billy Joe Royal, Classics IV and Joe South. In Atlanta, Guthrie met people who were successful in doing what they loved; his path was chosen.
