This CD consists of all original material written by Beautiful Bobby Blackmon. The CD was released 11/1/01. His music style is contemporary blues on tracks 1,2,7,8&9. The other tracks, 3,4,5,6 gives you the sweet R&B sounds that's been missing with other blues artists. The 1st track, I've Got Blues On My Mind" jams as Bobby lets everyone know that there's a new blues guitar-slinger in town and he just wants to stand back and play some blues for you. "We Don't Tell Motel" is for those who want to get even. "Holdin On To Sweet Memories is smooth r&b ballad that will have everyone singing the chorus. "Im Dialin 911" sets the r&b groove about a fellow who's trying to find his woman who left in the middle of the night. Listen to pleading cries of "I Don't Want You To Go" and it reminds you of Otis Redding being in the house. Now "Tryin To Forget About Yesterday" is that song about bad luck that touches your soul but lifts you up. "Give Me The Blues Any Ole Time" is all about keeping the blues alive. The downhome slow blues with the bending strings wailing is sizzling on "I'm Headed For A Breakdown. B.Y.O.B is simply bring your own bottle and bring your own blues to the party down the street. This CD is a treasure for the blues music fans who want their blues contemporary and with some funky danceable r&b mixed in.
Beautiful Bobby Blackmon is an excellent blues guitarist/vocalist who currently entertain his fans with his band in the Orlando, Florida area. Bobby's career began in the Southwest not for from the Dallas, Texas area. His Texas blues influence is heard in his soulful guitar playing. He has worked as a sideman behind many blues and r&b artists auch as: Jimmy Reed, Lavelle White, ZZ Hill, Johnny Taylor,Lou Rawls, Little Esther Phillips, etc. After retiring from the music scene for a number of years ( to work the day job) he decided to come back to "Keep The Blues Alive" and we're glad he did. Beautiful Bobby has a talent for writing "hook" lyrics that makes it easy for people to sing along with his songs. His influences includes Little Milton, Bobby Bland, BB King, Wayne Bennett (former guitarist with Bland)and Buddy Guy. His guitar has a mellow clean sound as well as his vocals; he has his own style.
