His debut album It'll All Make Sense was released in 1999. Featuring 10 original songs, his backing musicians included the rhythm section of Blues Hall of Fame inductee Lonnie Brooks. This debut record instantly earned rave reviews in Blues Access and Blues Revue Magazines, as well as gaining strong local and nation radio play. Blues Deluxe Radio or Arlington, Texas had this to say: "He's only 19, but he sure plays like a seasoned veteran." Live: Blues In Greenville was his second disc, released in 2000. Recorded in the Northwest Iowa town of Greenville, this recording serves as a snapshot in time of his ever evolving live show. Included on this disc are a number of cover tunes in addition to four original songs. Blues Revue had this to say: "Not yet of drinking age, Perry has great road-dog instinct. Anybody who leads a release with a blasting cover of surf hymn "Pipeline" knows how to stoke a crowd. Perry's sweat-soaked leads have punk-rock energy and classic Texas electric blues intensity." His third album, The Move was released in 2003. Again containing ten original tunes, this disc helped to further cement his reputation as an original guitarist and songwriter. The tour support for this record also brought about further expansion of his live show territories - moving out beyond the previous central hub of Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. Gordon Baxter of Blues On Stage wrote: "The Move is a solid album, and Ross William Perry is an accomplished guitarist. If you like your blues served up with a fair sized helping of rock, then The Move fits the ticket.”
