EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE was founded in 1990 by guitarist and singer Peter Schmidt in Berlin. The following year, drummer Ronny Dehn joined the band, and bassist Jäcki Reznicek completed the line-up in 1994, with the trio setting off sharply from then on. The news of the quality of this new band spread rapidly, so that EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE not only increasingly successful toured in Germany, but already in 1994 at the then largest Scandinavian Blues Festival (Djurs Bluesland) occurred in Denmark.The trio appeared like an overseas cultural import anyway and was therefore hired by American and British blues musicians, such as Carey Bell, Big Golden Wheeler or Johny Mars, as a backing band for their Germany appearances.
An enthusiastic audience and increasing critical acclaim caused EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE and other top-class musicians to expand into the ten-member EAST BLUES & SOUL EXPERIENCE BIG BAND. DEUTSCHLANDRADIO recorded a concert in Stralsund in October 2001 in order to present it to a large audience. The sound of this extraordinary big band was recorded on some songs of the album "East Blues Experience" released in 2000, which was already the third album of EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE, but when the band's studio production caught the attention of experts for the first time.
It should remain for the time being the only release of the trios Schmidt, Reznicek, Dehn, because in the year 2002 their ways parted after eight years together.
The band released the album "Red Ballon" in 2003 as the starting point for a new round of EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE. There were now four of them on the road and next to Peter Schmidt and Ronny Dehn Rainer Engelmann (bass) and Axel Merseburger (guitar) were on stage.
Although EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE played land-based with continued success, in 2005 the point was reached where each of the four musicians wanted to pursue new musical goals. The band said goodbye to their fans.
But for a long time none of the four withstood the EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE abstinence, and so in 2007, with great enthusiasm, the album "V10" was recorded and booked for the first time in the history of the band a time-limited tour with 36 concerts.
In the following years, EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE played few single concerts. And it was exactly in this time that one of the biggest experiences of the band so far was: the performance at the "Nakusp Musicfest" in Canada in 2009. Then it was a little quieter for EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE. Peter Schmidt, Ronny Dehn and Rainer Engelmann made musical trips to other bands or were on solo paths on the way. Ronny has been playing together again with Jäcki Reznicek in Germany's very successful band SILLY since 2006, and so it happened that EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE took a break from 2010 to 2014. Since the summer of 2014 it was clear that EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE will go on tour again - with family growth. In the meantime, a young musician grew up at the side of the band, who now belongs firmly to it. EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE - these are now Peter Schmidt, Jäcki Reznicek, Ronny Dehn and Adrian Dehn. In this cast also the EP "The Day" was added. For the first time, the band presented a mix of German and English songs.In 2015, EAST BLUES EXPERIENCE was finally back live...
