EB DAVIS: Internationally known as the Blues Ambassador. Born in the Arkansas Delta and raised on the Blues Mecca Beale Street in Memphis Tennessee. EB and his long standing, tight and disciplined 6 piece Superband has been delighting audiences around the world with Blues and Soul for more than 25 years. The Amazon movie How Berlin Got The Blues is the story of Blues Hall of famer EB DAVIS.
Although Eb Davis was born in Arkansas in 1944, he has been living in Germany for a few years now. His music roots lie in gospel, Chicago and Texas blues or Memphis soul. Influenced by such great musicians like Bobby “Blue” Bland, Roy Brown or James Brown, Eb has a wide vocal range that allows him to sing with a huge energy and conviction in all the just mentioned styles. A tireless worker, he has released more than twenty albums and performs regularly all over Europe, and especially in Germany, which has made that many people know him as “The Blues Ambassador”.
This album presents twelve songs performed with an extreme passion by an artist who shows himself as a versatile singer who comfortably moves both in traditional songs and in more modern rhythms, where his genuine voice always stands out, becoming the instrument to communicate all the necessary feeling, dynamism and precision to please and convince listeners.
Nine own compositions plus three versions round up an album that undoubtedly will catch the attention of lovers of the most traditional rhythms but also of those who are looking for a more contemporary sound. Blues, soul, groove and intense ballads go hand in hand along a recording where Eb Davis’ magnificent, hardened and raw voice is perfectly backed by Nina T. Davis on keyboards and vocals, Willie Pollock on sax and vocals, Ben King Perkoff on tenor sax, Jurgen Jay Bauley on guitar and vocals, Rom Blacksmith on bass and vocals and DiCarlo on drums. also featuring Mike Russell on guitar and vocals and Ramani Krishna on bass.
In short words, an album designed for providing satisfaction to a wide variety of audiences who like to listen to good quality black music performed from the depths of the heart.
