The Canettes Blues Band is a blues group from Geneva, Switzerland, and the nearby French region known as the Pays de Gex. The name comes from the French word "canette," which can mean a screw-top bottle, a beer mug, or a duckling. The Canettes Blues Band is widely hailed as one of the greatest groups of the Versoix Delta. They frequent Geneva hangouts, such as the Mr. Pickwick Pub and The Scene, and are a favorite of local summer festival crowds. Their songs, influenced by a diverse set of blues greats, from Sonny Boy Williamson to Buddy Guy to Wilson Pickett, have been featured on WRS, BBC 2, and even NPR.
