René Huard, a guitarist, vocalist, and harmonica player from Southern Ontario’s Niagara region, appears to approach the blues from a perspective of mood and feel: Huard’s music is a reflection of his mood, communicating insight via the various ‘feels’ contained across Blues Calling. René Huard is a veteran musician of Canadian roots music scene. For nearly forty years René has developed a fruitful career that has led him to be very well considered among general audiences and other musicians. At the beginning of his musical career Huard was member of The Meteors, opening for big artists like James Cotton, Long John Baldry or the legendary Downchild Blues Band, in addition of being selected to participate at first edition of renowned Ottawa Blues Festival, besides hosting some very popular television shows in Canada. After years of working with different bands, René Huard has started his own project, leading his group as singer and composer, although sometimes he also dares to play harmonica, guitar and piano.
