"12 Bar Blues" was founded in the early 2000s. Guitarist Erik Goulet from Montreal, wants to form a musical trio impersonating his influences from classic rock of the "Power Trio" from the 60s and 70s. Erik teams up with drummer Pete Lareau from Sherbrooke, for his jazz and fusion influences, which has many years of experience in various Canadian and American bands. To complete the trio, bassist Jacques Ethier from Montreal brings his experience and his many influences to solidify the trio's musical energy.??After the release of their debut album, "G-STRING'', composed of original pieces, "12 BAR BLUES" tours for the next 10 years. The multiple shows during these years allowed them to open shows for Jim Zeller, Duke Robillard, The Cowboys Fringant and Bobby Bazini. Several festivals have seen the "12 BAR BLUES" in their wake: Maximum Blues in Carleton QC, Festiblues of Montreal, Festival du Cochon St. Perpetue, Tremblant Blues and The Drag-Show of St. Perpetue.??The "12 BAR BLUES" also has a spot at the corporate level with benefits for the Electric League of Quebec, Nedco, Lumen, the Club Richelieu and NAPA Canada. This allowed them to perform before a crowd of nearly 1000 people at the presentation of the NASCAR NAPA 200 in Montreal in 2010.??The year 2011 will mark the release of their second album, "TIME". This album demonstrates the shift towards musical influences rock, progressive and fusion. Composed entirely of original material, these compositions will surprise by their inspirational texts and intense music. The culmination of all the years of experience, shows the trio wants to display their influences into a "PROGRESSIVE BLUES."??Erik Goulet on guitar and vocals, Pete Lareau on drums and Jacques Ethier on bass, "12 BAR BLUES" shapes the blues with their musical originality and intense shows.
