The Dylan Bishop Band is an Austin based blues band thrilling audiences with theirauthentic and well groomed style of playing. They draw inspiration from blues greats such as Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Mercy Baby, Frankie Lee Sims, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown and many others. Dylan and his band play all around Texas, and always leave crowds wanting more. You know you are on the right path when the same guy who discovered Hound Dog Taylor discovers you 45 years later. Such was the case when legendary musicologist Wes Race found teenage guitar phenom Dylan Bishop a few years ago playing bars in Austin, Texas while still in high school. In an incredibly short time, since then, Bishop has garnered a reputation as one of the most exciting and authentic young blues artists on the local and international scene. His influences fuse Buddy Guy, Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson, Lightnin Hopkins, Eddie Taylor and more into a style of that is totally unique, refreshingly spontaneous and exciting. One of his biggest fans is the legendary Jimmie Vaughan and another one of note is blues-rock icon Joe Bonamassa who recently touted him as “the best new guy I have heard on the scene in awhile”. We truly believe that Bishop is not only an astounding talent for his young age but that he is also poised to have major crossover appeal while remaining true to his exceptionally deep traditional music.
