DOC STRONG was born & raised in Philadelphia, the youngest in a Musical family & graduated Summa Cum Laude from the United States Naval Academy of Music at the Amphibious Base in Little Creek, VA while serving as an Army Bandsman and Guitar Instructor. In the mid to late eighties, DOC played w/ former Nighthawks guitarist/vocalist JIMMY THACKERY & his band "The Assassins" 200+ dates a year. Jimmy also contributed songwriting/playing to his CD. DOC Co-wrote and recorded songs for his CD with former Allman Brothers Keyboardist/Songwriter JOHNNY NEEL, writer of "Good Clean Fun" for the ABB. They also shared the stage at festivals and concert halls in and around The Mid Atlantic area. DOC was the guitarist/vocalist for many years with the NBA Philadelphia 76ers House Band backing up many legendary recording artists. DOC has reunited with longtime friend & former bandmate Musical Director/Keyboardist, Alabama Music Hall of Famer KENNY KIRBY. The DOC STRONG Band or Duo Concert experience features original songs from his Philly Fillet Records release "Faye's Baby Boy", as well as classic covers. His Tribute Band "DON'T CALL ME DELBERT", pays homage to the Icon Delbert McClinton...
