Kansas City is home to many well-known blues artists such as Nick Schnebelen — founding family member of Trampled Under Foot, the acclaimed, award winning blues sibling trio. Not one to let the grass grow under his feet, Nick has been in the garage, fine-tuning his next musical vehicle, the NICK SCHNEBELEN BAND, and he has greased up his new ride for the road! This is Nick’s first record since TUF and the first live, raw debut of vocalist/guitarist Heather Newman performing her own original earth-toned rootsy approach to the blues. Nick Schnebelen Band welds together huge frame pieces of Blues, Rock and even some fast rocking swing, just to show off his mechanical skills. Also riding with Nick are Heather Newman on vocals and guitar, Cliff Moore on bass, and Joe Voye on drums. Nick Schnebelen showcases his impressive versatility, acting as vocalist and breaking new ground on electric guitar, lap-steel, and dobro. It’s easy to see why Nick won the Albert King Award for Best Guitarist at the Blues Foundation’s 2008 International Blues Challenge. On this album, Nick unleashes dark, simple chunky riffs with a searing tone he gets just with guitar and amp. This rocking band was hand-built using simple tools.
