Few musicians have achieved the consensus and unanimity that B.B. King has enjoyed practically since the beginning of his career, and that was more than sixty years ago. Fans and colleagues consider him the greatest, the bluesman par excellence. That's why his passing on May 14th was such a blow to the entire blues community around the world, and Catalonia in particular. And this was the reason that prompted guitarist and singer Amadeu Casas to put together a band, including a horn section, and prepare a repertoire that revisits, in their own way, the repertoire of this master. A unique and necessary evening.
A very sincere tribute in capital letters, "as a blues guitarist and most fervent admirer of B.B. King, I cannot miss the opportunity to express how much I owe him." It is a gratitude based on the deep respect, source of inspiration, and admiration for the "King of the Blues." The chosen repertoire does not at any time intend to be a musical replica but rather the interpretation of songs treated from Amadeu Casas' own way of understanding music.
Apart from the numerous record collaborations and projects in which he has participated, Amadeu Casas has six record works with his own songs, both instrumental and sung in Catalan. Throughout his career he has worked with prestigious musicians, both from the local and international scene: Quico Pi de la Serra, Maria del Mar Bonet, Roger Mas, Joan Manuel Serrat, August Tharrats, Dani Nel·lo, Big Mama, Llibert Fortuny, Raynald Colom, Gorka Benítez, Philip Walker, Guitar Crusher, Johnny Mars, Joe Guitar Hugues, Hook Herrera, Julian Piper, Shirley Johnson, Eddie King, UP Wilson, Big Time Sarah, Mitch Woods, Jerry Portnoy and Tom Principato, among others.
