Kivett Bednar is a guitarist/vocalist, amp maker and visual artist originally from Austin, TX and now residing in Portland, OR. His time in Austin was well-spent, soaking in the Texas blues traditions by sneaking into Antone's to hear the greats and playing along with his dad's old records. Blending those influences with the skills he built at Berklee College of Music has led to an award-winning sound that is gritty, heartfelt and distinctly his own. Drummer Edwin Coleman III mixes his roots in Louisiana and Cuban music with the West Coast Swing he learned playing in clubs with his father, bassist Edwin Coleman, Jr. to create a potent rhythmic stew. On bass is Jeff Langston, another accomplished Berklee grad who’s played everywhere from CBGB to Carnegie Hall. Organist Pat McDougall listens avidly to drawbar greats like Mike Finnigan, James Toney, Jimmy McGriff and more, seeking to bring their immortal grit and grease to the sound of the KBB.
