last album be a great send-off, and this doesn’t disappoint.
Musically, this album isn’t lacking. Patrick sound undoubtedly the best compared to any other 00’s. The guitar parts are also quite riveting. Pete has only a few memorable moments. Andy really shines and is solid throughout the album. Lyrically, this is a bit less clever than the other albums in their discography by then, and most of the songs have just less wit and importance to them. No, Pete didn’t slack off this album in his lyric writing and it does contain some memorable lyrics. Not the best in their discography, although some may argue me on that point, this is a really great album teeming with subtle experimentation and a great bridging gap between the two halves of their discography.
