BJ Allen and Blue Voodoo are two-time participants in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, and their previous release "The Storm" was a semi-finalist in the Best Self-Produced CD competition at IBC, 2006. With the release of their third CD, "Hot Wire (My Heart)" in 2007, this quartet of blues rockers continue to establish their own blues signature. Both "The Storm" and "Hot Wire (My Heart)" feature nearly entirely original music with just one cover song on each disc. BJ is a lady that sings the blues - sweet, sultry, sassin', sexy - from the powerful "Gypsy Woman" and the title track "Hot Wire My Heart" to the sad strains of "Blue As Blues Can Get" or the wrenching "Deep Valley" - BJ delivers a vocal punch that will stir the soul. Jerry Fuller handles guitar and keyboard tracks and is one of the writers in the band. Equally adept with either instrument, Jerry provides the musical punch to this group. JP Hurd plays the bass and adds harp tracks, as well as writing some of the original music. JP applies the funk to the soul of this blues band. David Daniels keeps the groove on the drums and handles the engineering for the recording projects. David and JP lay down a strong foundation over which Jerry and BJ work their magic. Covering a wide range of blues styles, BJ Allen and Blue Voodoo put on a great show with their own brand of contemporary blues that has earned them air play on broadcast, internet, and satellite radio stations world-wide.
