Known for his powerful performances and exciting guitar playing Jo Hell is a charismatic artist with a bold stage act that always delivers a one-of-a-kind live music experience made for real lovers of Blues and Rock. Born and raised in Montreal he began his career playing locally for 10 years before moving to the USA settling in Austin, Texas. Jo Hell and his band arrived in March of 2006 to play the SXSW festival. They became the house band at the Nuno's on 6th Blues Club and were also featured at the Red, White, And Blues Festival at Waterloo Park in July of 2006. While performing frequently in the Live Music Capital of the World in famous venues like Antone's, the band was often hitting the road around Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and California merging their unstoppable Montreal roots with the deep-south sounds and it's rich musical culture. On December 2009, the Jo Hell Band traveled to Belgium to headline the "Pjeireblues Festival" performing for the first time in Europe. Returning to Canada they would perform for the third time at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Jo Hell remained based in Texas until 2018 playing the local circuit and performing several venues across USA, Canada and Europe. During his career Jo Hell has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with great blues and rock legends such as Pine Top Perkins, Hubert Sumlin', Buddy Miles, Gary Clark Jr, Frank Hannon, Gary Busey among many others. Jo Hell has released several albums such as South Side and self-titled Jo Hell, both recorded at the renown Victor Studio in Montreal, Live In Belgium recorded during Pjeireblues Festival, Rockin' Land recorded at the Boiler Room Studio, Still Alive, and the latest movie soundtrack project entitled Shotgun Love with the single Bullet Back all recorded in Austin. Recently he has moved back to his hometown Montréal and is soon releasing his first ever french rock & blues album entitled Retour aux Racines. Along the years Jo Hell's signature performances and high energy Blues Rock music have become a proven formula that always gets audiences engaged and captivates fans from all over the globe.
