An interesting side story to the band's story was brought by Woody Garrett, a young black-skinned natural talent playing while playing at Austin's South-By-Southwest. The soulful singer was offered a trip to Finland, and to the surprise of all this was accomplished. With Garrett, the twisters threw in four hilarious, successful Finnish rounds, most of which included sold out gigs. There were also two great collaborative albums with Woody. In the 90s, Doobie Twisters did the aforementioned couple of weeks in addition to the Austin, Texas tour, and in -97 a three-week tour in Toronto, Canada. They also toured in Sweden and Estonia, and also toured several times across Finland.
