Smilin' Bobby (1939 – 2023) was an Chicago blues guitarist and vocalist. Born in 1939 in Helena, Arkansas – where he intended to play Sonny Boy Williamson II – Bobby Smith followed his parents to Chicago in the winter of 1950. If he went back and forth between Arkansas and the Windy City in the following years, following the death of his parents, he settled there permanently from 1956.
