Donnie Millers 5th release. His second under his birth name. What is in a name anyway? I was born Kerry Duane Johnson and had that name until I was 4 days old when I was adopted and it was changed to Donald D. Miller. But no one has called me Donald since I was 4 years old. I've always been known as Donnie Miller throughout my entire 40 year career until my latest album (My name is Kerry Duane Johnson) was released. I left home in 1977 at age 18 and toured the U.S. 250 nights a year for the next 10 with 2 groups. "LEOTUS AND THE UNKNOWNS" and "DONNIE AND THE ROCK". In 1987 I signed with SONY and completed 1 album...."ONE OF THE BOYS" in 1990. In 1992 I severed a nerve and tendon on the palm of my left hand virtually ending my career as a guitar player. After a 4 hour surgery to put it back together Dr.'s said I'd never play the way I had again. They were correct. I started playing the BLUES as a means of therapy and it saved both my life and career. I have never looked back. I come with a trio or quartet (depending on YOUR budget) and will hold your audience in the palm of my surgically saved hand until the show is over. While I may have many other credits that aren't mentioned in this bio the most important one to myself and the band is MY NEXT GIG! I found my birth name and biological mother at age 36. But it's taken 20 years to accept and understand who that person is. Hence the name of my latest release. So I guess there truly IS a lot in a name. I really do not care what you call me....as long as you DO....call me.
