Two heavyweights of the Australian blues-rock-soul scene 8 Ball Aitken & Taya Chani have teamed up with a new album project ‘Nightbird’. The first single and title-track ‘Nightbird’ immediately hit #1 on the Australian AMRAP Regional Charts in March 2025 for two weeks in a row as did their second single ‘Miss You The Most’ in May. Their signature harmonies and groovy guitars have proved to be a winning combination. 8 Ball Aitken & Taya Chani are embarking on their second national Australian Tour in over the Autumn and Winter months of 2025. 8 Ball Aitken, a globe-touring blues and roots artist who spent nine years in Nashville, and Sydney soul singer Taya Chani, known for her acclaimed debut Restless Heart, joined forces in 2022, united by their shared love of Southern American music. Their collaboration began during an Australian tour and quickly led to co-writing and recording. Their first release, Only Guiding Light from Ice Cream Man 2, topped the Australian Blues & Roots Charts in 2023. Their latest album, Nightbird, features a stellar lineup including U.S. sax legend Buddy Leach (George Thorogood & The Destroyers), renowned drummer Declan Kelly, and 8 Ball’s brother Dillion James Aitken on keys.
