Al Jones was the first man to popularize American blues in Germany. The name "Al Jones" has always been associated with the blues. For blues musicians and fans, Al Jones laid the foundation for German-American blues history. Over time, Al Jones continually developed his blues style, spanning a spectrum from legendary originals to modern original compositions. Al Jones fulfilled a long-held dream of compiling his favourite songs for an authentic blues album: ‘Still in Charge’. And it's quite something: 13 earthy songs from the deepest swamps of the blues, clearly and honestly continuing the musical tradition of their predecessors, some of whom he had the privilege of accompanying himself (Champion Jack Dupree, Willie Mabon, Tommy Tucker, Sonny Rhodes and Louisiana Red). Al Jones is a top act on the European blues scene. He popularised American blues in Germany and laid the foundation for German-American blues history. The result is a blues album full of power and energy – another highlight in the musical life of blues legend Al Jones.
